WEANING: 25 Breakfast Ideas for Babies and Toddlers

WEANING: 25 Breakfast Ideas for Babies and Toddlers
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day - how many times have you heard that? I love breakfast on my days off work because I can cook up something tasty for Isabella and I. Breakfast on my days at work usually consist of cold toast wolfed down before rushing out of the door. I've put together 24 tasty breakfast ideas that you and your little ones can enjoy either at home or on the go.

1) Apple puree and cinnamon porridge

2) Crushed avocado on bagel

3) Weetabix - with full fat milk either warm or cold.

4) Gluten free cornflakes - with full fat milk and half a mashed banana.

5) Scrambled egg on toasted English muffin
6) Blueberry and Oat Bars - see recipe here
7) Banana pancakes - 1 banana mashed with 1 beaten egg, fried on each side until cooked and served with fruit.

8) Overnight berry oats - oats mixed with Greek yogurt, left overnight and combined with defrosted frozen berries.

9) Smoothie Bowl sprinkled with milled linseed and fresh blueberries - Frozen berries and grapes, porridge oats, banana, full fat milk and water blitzed until smooth.

10) Greek yogurt with pear and mango purée

11) Cinnamon eggy bread with apple purée - soak 1 slice of brown bread in 1 egg, splash of milk and 1/2 tsp cinnamon. Warm butter in a frying pan and gently fry until golden on both sides.
12) Smoothie - This one is nectarine, grape and blueberry.
13) Peanut butter and sliced banana on toasted sunflower seed rye bread
14) Fruit salad with yoghurt
15) Homemade apple and apricot flapjack with Greek yogurt

16) Sweet potato and pumpkin seed muffins - recipe coming soon
17) Berry Oaty Bars - see recipe here
18) Apple Bircher Muesli - mix full fat milk, squeeze of lemon, vanilla essence, porridge oats, grated apple and cinnamon together (I do this in a jam jar), seal and store in the fridge overnight. In the morning sprinkle with dried fruit and nuts.
19) Coconut pancakes with mango purèe - see recipe here
20) Greek yogurt with apple purée and homemade granola
21) Banana and oat scones - see recipe here
22) Baked avocado - Half an avocado, remove the stone and scoop out some of the flesh so you can fit more of the egg in. Break an egg into a bowl, use a spoon to carefully put the yolk into the avocado. Then spoon as much egg white as you can fit in around the edge. Make a 'bed' for the avocado halves using tin foil in an ovenproof dish and bake for 15-20 minutes or until the egg is completely cooked through.
23) Cinnamon and ginger Apple wedges with Greek yogurt and blueberry compote - see the recipe here
24) Baked cinnamon apple with homemade fruit and oat crumble topping
25) Apple and cinnamon croissant - Using the Jus-Rol Croissants (in a can from the fridge section of supermarkets), roll it out and cut into triangles. Sprinkle each triangle with cinnamon and place a couple of thin slices of apple at the widest end of the triangle. Roll up (following instructions on the packet) and bake as instructed.
What's your little ones favourite breakfast?

  5. I have one very fussy eater but this has given me quite a few new ideas. I think we'll try the blueberry and oat bars first because I'm 99% sure they will go down a treat with my Little Miss. Thanks for sharing so many lovely breakfast ideas. :)
