At the start of the holiday we visited, possibly, the cutest and most caring place - a Turtle Hospital in Marathon, Florida. There were loads of injured turtles that were cared for by volunteers, with the aim of releasing them back into the wild. Unfortunately things like fishing lines, plastic bags and boats cause turtle injuries, so it's lovely that people give up their time to look after them. We took a 90 minute tour of the hospital, including seeing a 4 month old turtle and feeding them! If you ever visit the Florida Keys area then I'd highly recommend it and all of the visitors entrance fees go towards funding the hospital.
