BEAUTY: Tarte To Brighter Days Gift Set

When I asked on Twitter which beauty products I should buy when I went to America, the brand that stood out was tarte. To be honest, I hadn't heard of this brand until I saw it on Essie Button's blog a couple of months ago. I was excited to discover this brand and buy some of their products. While we were in America I did a bit of online research - it pays off to do this if you're planning on buying beauty products both in the UK and abroad - and found that buying a tarte gift set from Ulta was the cheapest way of experiencing the infamous blusher an a couple of their other products. The Tarte To Brighter Days Gift Set contains a full size Amazonian Clay Blusher in Adored, travel size Double Detox Amazonian Clay Exfoliating Facial Mask, travel size Deluxe Pure Maracuja Oil and travel size Deluxe Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder.
This set was from Ulta and cost $29, while its contents have the value of $54 - bargain being as one tarte blusher costs $26! Unfortunately I've just been on the Ulta website and it says that this kit isn't available anymore but it is worth looking into whether it's better value to buy a gift set rather than a single product. Tarte products are now available within the UK thanks to QVC - they sell a number of the products that were included in the gift set I bought.
The 50ml tarte Maracuja Oil is available from QVC for an introductory price of £35.16. I absolutely love this oil, I have been applying it every night since I came back from America over a month ago. I put two drops into my palms, work it between my hands and then apply it over my face. It's not greasy and sinks in almost instantly. I love how soft it makes my skin feel, which I was surprised about because I have oily skin. I always thought I shouldn't use facial oils but I've been proved wrong!
The infamous tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blushers are also available from QVC for an introductory price of £21.12. Almost everyone I asked about tarte suggested I get one of their blushers because of their longevity. As I went with the intention of getting long lasting make up for my wedding day, I thought this product would be perfect. I certainly wasn't let down - it's really pigmented blusher, blends easily and almost 'melts' into the skin. This helps to achieve a very natural look. QVC only offer a small range of shades, there are five shades but only two that are in stock - Fearless and Flush. The shade I bought in America was Adored - a lovely bright pink shade with very small flecks of glitter. I really like a rosy cheek look and this blusher is perfect, I was worried about the glitter particles but they are so subtle I can wear this blusher on a daily basis.
The other two products that were in this gift set aren't currently available from QVC - the finishing powder and facial mask. The finishing powder is white, so it's ideal for setting make up as it doesn't add any colour. The facial mask has 'just the right amount' of moisture, so it doesn't leave your skin feeling tight, making this a nice facial mask to use weekly.

Have you tried any of the tarte products?
