REVIEW: Cosatto Giggle Group 0+ Infant Car Seat in All Star

Buying a car seat isn't an easy task, with so many options on the market, all varying in price, features, standard and age they're aimed at. When we started looking we felt overwhelmed by the choice and didn't really know where to start - did anyone else feel like this? We obviously wanted the safest option for our baby, with the addition of compatibility to the pushchair we ended up buying and it being reasonably priced. After a lot of searching and being completely unsure how we would ever make a decision, we settled on the Cosatto Giggle Group 0+ Infant Car Seat in All Star. It's also available in a range of other designs, which all match the Cosatto Giggle 2 range of pushchairs/travel systems.
The average price we could find the car seat for was £125, but the cheapest by far was amazon for £100.95 plus free delivery. We ordered ours from amazon, delivery was prompt and the car seat was set up and ready to go straight away. It also came with a rain cover, an added bonus for the price! You can purchase a Cosatto Hold Isofix Car Seat Base for £112 (plus free delivery) from amazon. This fixes into your car, providing a base for the car seat. The idea is that it's quicker and easier to take the car seat in and out of the car, but it's a large extra cost and we have two cars. We are still contemplating whether to buy one or not, if we did it would probably live in my husbands car, as he tends to drive when we go out. It seems slightly excessive to spend another £224 on buying one for each of our cars!

If you don't opt for an ISOFIX base then I'd recommend practicing putting the car seat in and out of your car. We made the mistake of not doing this enough, so when we left the hospital after having Isabella we were stuff in the car park with a set of instructions and a crying baby. Stress that wasn't needed! However once you've got the hang of it, it's so easy to do.
The Cosatto Giggle Group 0+ Infant Car Seat is suitable for babies up to a weight of 13kg, approximately when they are around 12 months old. I don't think this is too bad, as we will be using the car seat attached to a pushchair system too, so it won't only be used in the car.
Benefits of the Cosatto Giggle Group 0+ Infant Car Seat -

  • Rearward-facing on front and rear vehicle seats
  • Features 5-point harness with quick-release buckle
  • Extras include headhugger and tummy and chest pads
  • Includes 4-year guarantee when registered with Cosatto (UK and Ireland only)
  • The 4-year guarantee means that during the whole time you would be using this car seat with a child (around 12 months) it's under guarantee. For me that's a comfort to know, as too often something goes wrong just as a guarantee runs out!
The designs of this range of car seats are fun, unique and they stand out! We've had so many compliments when we're out and about from people saying they love the design or how fun it is. The cost of the car seat changes slightly with each design, so it's well worth shopping around for deals and offers. We chose the All Star design because the general theme with things we've bought Isabella has been stars and this obviously matches that perfectly. This design isn't one of their newest (we bought this in November last year) but is still easily available online or in stores such as Argos. They have a new range of designs out now, which are so stylish and unique. There's a floral pink pram called WOOP Tropico Travel System and it's all kinds of beautiful, as well as another similar star design called Hipster.

The weight of this car seat compared to others is good, it's not the lightest but certainly isn't anywhere near the heaviest! Isabella is now 12 weeks and it is getting a bit of a struggle to carry it, I'm hoping my arm muscles strengthen up quickly!

Overall I'm really impressed with the range of features, design and price of this car seat. It's perfect for what we wanted. Cosatto have so many stylish products on offer, so check their website out!
