BABY: Nursery Tour

I've been meaning to do a nursery tour for a while now, as I love reading these posts - any excuse for a good nosey! We have been adding new bits here and there to Isabella's nursery since she was born, so kept putting off doing a nursery tour. It's still not completely finished but she'll be out of the nursery before I do this if I don't get on with it!

Creating a nursery for our daughter has been so much fun, but not without its own amount of stress! As you may know we bought our house back in December and it needed a lot of work doing on it. Obviously we had until Isabella was born to try and get as much done as possible. With around 3 weeks left before Isabella was due it was looking like we wouldn't get time to do the nursery, as we were still working on the bathroom and kitchen! So we decided to get a decorator in to wallpaper and paint her nursery. It was an expensive way of doing it but I'm so glad we did because it meant I could put together her nursery during my maternity leave. Nesting definitely played a part in wanting to set up her nursery so much.

We wanted to keep the decoration in the room pretty neutral, so that it's an adaptable space in the future. There is the odd pop of colour, namely the cot bed, otherwise it's grey's, whites and pinks. There are lots of photo's, so let's get on with it...
Little Lane Changing Mat and Liner - Mothercare - £14.99 similar here

KASSETT White Storage Boxes - IKEA - £2.75 for 2 pack
Grey Star Storage Basket - H&M - £1.99 (similar here
White Wicker Basket - The Range - £8.99 for 3 pack

Grey Star Storage Box - TK Maxx - £5.99

Peg Bag (we keep socks in it) - Cath Kidston Outlet - reduced to £7 (similar here

At the bottom of the wardrobe there are shelves, which we use to store nappies, wipes, cotton wool etc. We've been collecting nappies that have been on offer, hence the varying sizes. It's surprising how much you can fit!

FROSTA Stool in Pale Blue - IKEA - £8 (similar here

My very talented auntie made the rabbit!

Animal Number Cards - Paperchase - £2.50 each

    1. Setting up a nursery for your baby is so lovely isn't it?! Before Isabella was born I'd walk past it imagining what it would be like with her in it and now she's almost outgrown her Moses basket she's going to have to move into there soon. Not sure how ready I am though?!? Haha

  7. I love the cot too! I had a completely different vision for my nursery and could not find the types of things I was after at reasonable prices. But I think its come together nicely anyway. I love peeking into other peoples homes! You have done a great job!

    1. Ooo me too - I'm so nosey! Haha I agree, it can be so hard to find nursery accessories that are affordable and fit in with your image. I wasn't planning on having a colourful cot but we saw it on offer in Mothercare and gel in love :) looking out for bargains is the best way!

  8. What an absolutely beautiful nursery! We did ours as much as we could before Lily was born but now that we're moving, it's just a room for boxes at the moment, such a shame! I am still nesting even though she is here and can't wait until we're all moved and settled and I can get her space sorted for her.

It's all gorgeous but I especially love the chair and the cot, the colour scheme is also very nice & gentle, perfect for a baby :) So cute, comfy and cosy!

  13. I'm in love with that cot!!! I know what you mean about wanting to share when everything's perfect, but I truly believe that a room is never 100% "done"; you'll always want to add to it and evolve it. x

  15. Oh I am in LOVE with the nursery - it is so gorgeous. I love how tidy and organised it is. We have very little storage space in my daughter's room and it's one thing we could really do with more of.

That cot is absolutely stunning, I've never seen one like that. And how lucky to have such a talented auntie, that bunny rabbit is beautiful. Does she sell them?

  16. What a lovely room! I love the retro styling of the cot — and the lovely cot bumper too — just gorgeous! It's a lovely room for her to grow into too, not too 'babyish' which is something I love in a baby's room!! Thanks so much for linking up with #HomeEtc — hope to see you again next week! x
