BEAUTY: Maybelline The Nudes Eyeshadow Palette

My Dad recently went to America *cue mass beauty shopping list* and he kindly picked me up some new make up. My Dad isn't the most knowledgeable about make up, which isn't entirely surprising, but it did mean my shopping list had to be seriously detailed!
The shade, product name, brand, shop and price were all included - yet when he returned from America he complained about how complicated it is buying make up. To be fair it probably is to someone who never usually shops for make up, but for us make up lovers its all part of the experience.

One item I asked my Dad to pick up was the Maybelline The Nudes Eyeshadow Palette because I don't really have a proper palette with a range of matte and shimmer shades. I usually wear browns/golds/bronzes on my eyes, if I'm honest I'm not particularly adventurous when it comes to eye make up. If you're like me then this palette is a really good drugstore choice, it's in Boots for £9.99 but there are always offers on.
I really like the range of shades - theres a highlighter shimmer shade, a range of medium matte and shimmer browns, as well as some darker shades. There's everything you'd need to create both a day time and night time look.

Pigmentation wise these aren't the best in the drugstore, some shades are better than others. The black isn't very pigmented at all but the pale highlighter shade has really good pigmentation. I think there's enough shades in this palette with good pigmentation to create a powerful smokey eye. The less pigmented shades are ok as transition shades or if you want a light wash of colour over the lids. Below you can see the colours...

Overall I like this palette for a drugstore option, it's compact, comes with an applicator and most of the shades have good pigmentation.

What's your favourite drugstore eyeshadow palette?
