GIFT INSPIRATION: Becky Bettesworth Vintage Seaside Posters

Becky Bettesworth lives in South Devon, where she creates the most beautiful posters inspired by the classic railway posters of the 1930's. The posters are mostly based around various seaside towns around the United Kingdom, with some feel good quote posters added in for good measure. There's something so nostalgic about seaside towns, with their cute beach huts, well loved landmarks, fresh fish and chips, rickety old piers and rustic beaches. Becky's posters encapsulate all of these attributes so cleverly, taking you back to a much simpler time before technology and our every busy lives took over.
I find the balance between simplicity and attention to detail so perfect, they have such a calming effect. The Becky Bettesworth posters add colour, lightness and a sense of calm to the area which they are displayed within your home. Something that is hard to come by nowadays. I love that you can choose between an inspiring quote or location, enabling you to choose a poster perfect for you.
St Ives is such a special place to my husband and I, as it's where he got down on one knee and proposed to me back in 2013. It was such a magical long weekend away, filled with walks along the beach, visiting the cute shops in St Ives and I'm sure a lot of nerves on his part! On the last morning we were having breakfast on the balcony of The Cabin we were staying in, I was looking at the stunning view we had over the beach saying how much I didn't want to return home when he got down on one knee and produced the most beautiful ring I had ever seen. After tears and a rush to get the ring on my finger (there were gaps in the balcony flooring and we didn't want it to fall through!) we floated around St Ives for the rest of the day, completely on cloud nine.
So you can probably understand why the Becky Bettesworth St Ives Poster* (from £12.50) stood out to me - the vibrant colours and perfectly captured vibe of St Ives make this incredibly special. There are many other locations, including: Beer, Bristol, Brixham, Bude, Budleigh Salterton, Burgh Island, Cornwall, Croyde, Dartmoor, Dartmouth, Devon, Exeter, Fowey, Greenway House, Jurassic Coast, Padstow, Paignton, Plymouth, Polzeath, Rock, Salcombe, Sauton Sands, Seaton, Shaldon, Sidmouth, Teignmouth, Topsham, Torquay, Totnes, Watergate Bay, Woolacombe
You can also pick up Becky Bettesworth vintage seaside themed posters with inspiring quotes, such as: Living the Dream, Life is a Journey, All you need is Love, Daydream Believer, Enjoy Today and Endless Summer. They're available in either A4 or A2 size, meaning they can either be displayed on the wall or on the side. There's bound to be a poster that will resonate with you or someone you know, making them the perfect thoughtful gift.
