January was a funny month, one that I had dreaded as it bought in 2016 but it actually ended up being a lovely month filled with so many happy memories. We had almost every weekend free to do what we wanted as a family, a rare luxury these days. We filled them with swimming, wandering around cute towns, sale shopping (much to my husbands delight), countryside walks and visiting friends. Absolute bliss.
1) WoodWick Hearthwick Candle in Vanilla Bean - Vanilla is my all time favourite scent for candles and this candle from WoodWick is the most scented candle I've owned. Not in a horrible way, in a fills the room with a delicious vanilla aroma if it's not being burnt. It also has a wooden wick, which means it crackles and flickers while burning. I hadn't heard of wooden wicks before Fleur de Force mentioned them in one of her videos. I was intrigued and I've fallen in love with the WoodWick candles as a result, especially the Hearthwick ones. If you love candles and roaring fires then it's well worth checking out the WoodWick candle range!
2) Prison Break - Ok, so January was the month I became one of those people who is obsessed with a tv show and would lose sleep in favour of watching another episode. Prison Break is simply gripping and with 4 seasons, each with around 24 episodes I clocked seem serious hours of tv watching this month. I've now finished every season and have just heard that they're going to be making a season 5, so exciting! My favourite seasons were one and two, by the fourth I was struggling to keep up with what was happening and who was who. Nevertheless if you're looking for a new series then I can't recommend Prison Break enough.
3) Clarins Complete Anti-Ageing Double Serum - I received this when I went to Eden Hall Spa, as part of their Clarins Signature Spa Day and have been in love ever since. Though I probably don't need the anti-ageing properties quite yet I have enjoyed applying this at night, after cleansing. It's not greasy at all and sinks into the skin beautifully. I then apply a moisturiser over the top, as it's not quite as hydrating as my skin needs but that's ok.
4) Kallo Spicy Chilli Rice & Corn Cakes - Most lunchtimes I'll have Kallo corn cakes with houmous, but this month I found these Spicy Chilli in Sainsburys and they are so tasty. Just the right amount of spice and the perfect way to add a bit more flavour to an otherwise pretty bland lunch. Kallo also have Paprika corn and rice cakes, which are really delicious too.
5) Snow - We've had our first snow fall of the year and I was so excited to take Isabella out for her first snow experience. Unfortunatly she wasn't a fan so we didn't spend long outside at all, but it was so pretty seeing everything covered in a perfect dusting of snow. The days after, as it melts, aren't quite as pretty though!
6) Marks and Spencer's New Season Baby Clothes - One of my favourite things to do is to browse and but clothes for Isabella, so I was seriously excited when I stumbled upon the new baby collection at Marks and Spencer's. I love the bright summery colours, bold prints and peter pan collars. They had 20% for one day this month so I grasped the opportunity to buy a few pieces, the rest are on my wishlist.
7) Breakfast at Bill's - Since having Isabella it hasn't really been possible to go out for dinner, with or without Isabella. So having breakfast out has become the new meal we treat ourselves to every now and again. My favourite place to go for breakfast this month has been Bill's, their Peanut Butter and Banana French Toast with Dark Chocolate Almond Nut Butter and Strawberries is simply incredible. It's what breakfast dreams are made of. I also have my eye on their blueberry buttermilk pancakes, avocado on toast and granola with yogurt. Mmmm!
8) Mummy Daddy Me... Blog - I'm relatively new to Katie's family lifestyle blog, Mummy Daddy Me..., and I've fallen in love with her content and photography. Her photo's inspire me to improve mine and it's just a joy reading all about her family's adventures. Katie is due her third child in April, which is so exciting and the same month I had Isabella only a year ago. It feels strange not to be pregnant and counting down the weeks until April, now I'm counting down the weeks until my little one turns one!
9) Propercorn Smooth Peanut & Almond popcorn - I've long had an obsession with different flavoured popcorn and the newest one that's been added to my favourites is this Smooth Peanut & Almond popcorn from Propercorn. It has an interesting balance between sweet and savoury, with peanut being the predominant flavour. The perfect alternative to sugary popcorn, low in calories and very moreish! I picked this up in larger Tesco stores, but otherwise have been struggling to hunt it down.
10) Getting up early with Isabella and catching the sunrise - There has to be a positive to getting up at 5am because apparently that's when Isabella likes to start her day. That positive has been seeing some absolutely stunning sunrises!
What have you been loving this month?
