FAMILY HOLIDAY: Day Out in Brighton

Brighton has been somewhere I've wanted to properly visit since looking around the university there back in 2008. I actually applied to Brighton University, but ended up going to Durham - talk about other ends of the country! There just seemed to be so much to discover in Brighton and the combination of sea/beach/shopping is perfect.

It was a 2ish hour drive from Blackwood Forest (read more about where we stayed here) to Brighton, so by the time we arrived it wasn't far off lunchtime. We had a quick wander along the front, then into the Lanes to find somewhere to eat. There are so many restaurant/cafe options - we opted for No. 32, which had a vast menu and an offer during the week of a burger and milkshake for £10. We then walked back down to the front, wandered down the pier and stopped off at Angel Food Bakery for a slice of cake to takeaway on the way back to the car. Highly recommend the Victoria Sponge - delicious!
Where's your favourite place to eat/visit in Brighton?

  1. There's a little Italian in the lanes and we have been going to it for over 30 years. although we haven't been for 2 and I'm hoping it's still there when we go next month.

  4. Looks like you had a great day! I love going to Brighton, fortunately we are quite close by so it's easy for us to get there. I love wandering through the Lanes. There are some nice little veggie restaurants there and also some lovely Italian restaurants down by the Pavilion.

  6. Brighton is so lovely - we had a great mini seaside break earlier this year, although definitely less sunny, and pancakes at Rock Ola. I love your choices too though. #myfavouritetrip
