RECIPE: Flower and Raspberry Chocolate Bark

This has to be one of the easiest but most effective treats I made for Isabella's floral themed birthday party. The combination of white chocolate with the dried raspberries works so well and the addition of edible dried flowers make it look extra special. You can pick up dried edible flowers online (websites such as amazon), but I found them to be pretty expensive. I ended up buying the seriously floral flower petal muesli from Waitrose (£3.99) and picking out the dried flower petals individually. It was quite a time consuming way of doing it but you don't need many petals and it meant I can now enjoy the muesli too.
What you'll need:
White chocolate, broken into cubes
Gel food colouring - I used purple and red to make pink
Edible dried flowers
Dried Raspberries - I got mine from Waitrose

What to do:
1) Place the white chocolate into a microwavable bowl and microwave the chocolate in 20 second bursts until the majority of it is melted. It's important you don't overheat the chocolate as it with separate and ruin. You could also melt the chocolate in a bowl over boiling water if you prefer.
2) Let the chocolate cool slightly and then separate into two bowls. Add a small amount of the gel food colourings to each of the bowls of white chocolate. Stir well and add more colouring until you reach your desired colour.
3) Line a baking tray with greaseproof paper and pour one of the bowls of coloured white chocolate onto one side of the lined tray. Quickly pour the other bowl onto the other side of the tray. Then using the back of a spoon spread the chocolate out until it covers the whole tray.
4) I then used a cocktail stick to swirl the chocolate at the point the two colours join.
5) Sprinkle the edible dried flowers and raspberries over the chocolate while it's still melted.
6) Place in the fridge for at least 2 hours, or until completely set.
7) Using a sharp knife break the slab of flower chocolate into shards. Then enjoy!
This would also make a lovely gift for someone special - you could wrap some of the shards in cellophane and add a pretty ribbon.

Have you tried making your own chocolate bark before?
