BLOGGING: The positive impact it has had on my life...

Blogging has been a big part of my life for a few years now and at points it has taken over. Some may think that's a bad thing, but I see it as a positive. It's a hobby I enjoy and one that has taught me so much over the years. I've learnt new skills, about a loving online community and a lot about myself. It's been both enriching and exhausting at times, but a journey that never ends and continuously develops.

During my maternity leave I put a lot more effort into my blog, I had the time and the focus...my little newborn baby. Along with becoming a parenting blogger came a sense of belonging, belonging to an incredibly supportive community. There are a small group of mummies that were pregnant at the same time as me and I loved sharing the journey into motherhood with them. It's been even more special watching our children grow up together, not in the normal sense but in a modern sense. Growing up together through square photos on Instagram, blog post updates, tweets and Facebook posts. The modern way of connecting with the big wide world and allowing us all to share our day to day lives as parents.

My husband has become the perfect companion for the behind the scenes work that goes into blogging and keeping social media updated. Initially I would have to beg him to take photos or constantly remind him not to get in the way of the 'perfect shot' or not to put away my photography back drops I'd lovingly created. But over time he has watched my passion and love for blogging grow, while becoming the perfect 'Instagram husband'. He'll now always ensure he's out of shot (I know that sounds mean, but no one wants his face all over my blog. Isabella's a lot cuter!) and willingly take photos. There's even been times when he's gone off and taken photos on his own, photography is beginning to become a shared passion thanks to blogging.

The photography on my blog and social media platforms is something I really enjoy constantly trying to improve, play around with and learn more. I don't have the best camera out there, in fact I don't even have a DSLR camera, something I would love to have one day. But I don't let that stop me - I'll go out at sunrise/sunset to get the best light, spend hours playing around with editing photos, work on upping my flat lay game, research photography tips and take inspiration from others. My new Instagram account (treasureeeverym) is my favourite photography project at the moment and I feel like I'm learning more every single day. That's what I love about blogging, it inspires me to continuously improve my skills. In fact photography is something I got into solely because of blogging and is now one of my real passions in life.

Another aspect of my life blogging has had a positive impact on is how we spend our time as a family. Writing blog posts, running social media accounts and my interest in photography is often the inspiration behind our family days out. Going to beautiful places, taking photos of Isabella and filling our days with exciting activities are things that may not have happened if I didn't blog. It really does have such a big impact on our family's life, probably more than I appreciate, but all in a positive way.

Blogging brings me so much happiness, creativeness and inspiration that I honestly can't imagine not having it in my life. I've been given the most amazing opportunities and worked with so many incredible brands, all of which have truly been an honour. I work so so hard on my blog and social media platforms, but that doesn't stop me being very appreciative of any brand that wants to work with me. Isabella's also been so lucky with the lovely thing she's received over the past 17 months, it melts my heart watching her play with something I've worked hard for her to have.

I guess this post is a thank you...thank you to everyone who reads my blog, thank you to the brands that have and continue to work with me, thank you to all of the bloggers out there that are truly my inspiration, thank you to everyone who takes the time to comment/interact on both my blog and social media, thank you for making me want to push myself and the biggest thank you has to be to my family for supporting my hobby, my love, my passion.

Thank you.
