#LITTLELOVES: Mocktails, Maternity Style and Mothers Day

Poor Isabella hasn't been very well for the past week, resulting in two days off nursery and a working parent logical nightmare. Neither my husband or I could really miss work this week, so Isabella's auntie so kindly stepped in and looked after her. It's really tricky when family don't live nearby, we're well and truly on our own most of the time. It's another reason I can't wait for maternity leave to start, no more having to split myself between work and being a mummy.

Mother's Day card. It's a bittersweet day for me, but Isabella and my husband made it so special this year. I can't believe that next year they'll be two reasons I'm a mummy!

Line of Duty. We completely missed this first and second time around, but later discovered it on Netflix. If you're not familiar with Line of Duty then it is a gripping drama about corruption in the Police. Each series is separate, in the sense that you can start watching the series currently on tv and not be confused. I thought the first episode was really gripping until the jaw dropping end scene, after which we were confused, questioning a lot and thought it was all a bit farfetched. What did you think?

Glasses clinking. At the weekend we went for a lovely meal at one of my favourite restaurants in the countryside. Usually I stick to water, but decided to 'treat' myself and have a virgin mojito. Wild, I know! It was so refreshing and just perfect for this beautiful sunshine we've been having.

As the countdown begins to Isabella's second birthday party the preparations have ramped up a gear. Life is pretty busy at the moment, so any moment I can tick a job off the to-do list then I jump at it. This week I 'made' (more like 'put together') these carrot inspired cutlery bundles. The cutlery* and napkins* are both from Party Pieces, making the perfect carrot combination. Once they were all wrapped up I popped them into little wooden crates Isabella had in her play kitchen from dotcomgiftshop.
During this pregnancy I've not bought any new maternity clothes, but I have been keeping my eye out for nursing friendly clothes. I really struggled after having Isabella finding clothes I could wear to breastfeed in, so I want to avoid that this time around. ASOS has lots of nursing friendly clothes and this dress is one of my latest buys, though I don't understand why they're maternity/nursing?!
Mother's Day. We headed to a beautiful deer park for a walk, or waddle in my case, before heading to a restaurant for dinner. It was a three course set menu and I was seriously uncomfortable when it came to pudding! This baby takes up so much room now that my stomach capacity has taken a hit, not a bad thing I guess. To start I had carrot & coriander soup, followed by asparagus risotto and a raspberry crème brulee.
What have you been loving this week?

Feel free to leave a comment - I love reading every single one :)

  1. Ok, I REALLY need to watch Line Of Duty! That drink looks amazing. Sounds like you had a wonderful Mother's Day! And yes, I always find it confusing when clothes are maternity/nursing...it's really not very often that the two are done at the same time! I guess it's because you still have a sizeable belly for a while after giving birth so it's to feel comfy... Have a great weekend! #LittleLoves

  2. It sounds like you've had a good week overall. Sorry to hear Isabella has been ill - I hope she is on the mend now.

The way you spend Mother's Day sounds lovely, and how simple but detailed and cute are the carrot cutlery bundles.

I hope you have a lovely weekend ahead.

  3. Sorry isabella has been ill. It is so hard when they are ill and you have to work. Sounds like a lovely mother's day. I know what you mean about nursing wear. I think mamas and papas used to do just nursing tops. Now I just tend to wear normal tops with vests under. The only thing I miss is dresses.
