It's been an alright week, due to the sad news of last week it has still been pretty emotional. Though the planning of Isabella's second birthday party is keeping me very busy, as time is even more limited now. It's reminded me how much I love planning events for our family and friends. The organisation, planning procedure and sourcing decorations is so much fun!
It's finally dawned on me that there aren't that many weeks left before our family becomes four, so preparing Isabella for what it going to happen has become a priority. I ordered these two books from amazon and we've been reading them everyday, discussing what's in mummy's tummy and all about babies. The 'Waiting for Baby' book isn't that great, just a whole heap of questions rather than a story. But Isabella has been requesting the 'There's a House inside my Mummy' book and although it is written for a baby brother I just adapt it as I go through to a baby sister. Hopefully by discussing it loads it won't all be such a shock when her little sister arrives.
Made in Chelsea. I was eagerly awaiting the start of the new series, knowing that Binky would be announcing she was pregnant. I still can't believe that she is and I'm presuming we're due around a similar time of year. MIC is the only 'reality' show that my husband will watch with me, though it's on at the same time as Broadchurch which is such a first world problem. This week Broadchurch took priority and we caught up with MIC the next evening, plus one is just too late for this pregnant lady!
Our second baby's heartbeat, for the first time this pregnancy. I've seen the heartbeat so many times, but never heard it and thanks to barely having any midwife appointments there weren't any chances either. It was so magical hearing the whirring heartbeat, took me right back to being pregnant with Isabella.
Party bag contents. Isabella's second birthday party is quickly approaching and time is seriously limited, so I spent an evening making up some craft carrots to go inside her party bags. The carrot cellophane bags* were from Hobbycraft, as were the Spring Foam Stickers*. I also filled them with sequins and coloured feathers, just some crafty bits and pieces for her friends to enjoy on a rainy day.
Isabella wore her big cousin's coat, as we ended up staying with them for longer than we thought. My sister-in-law, niece, Isabella and myself all have the same style coats, so we were truly twinning! I can't wait for another girl to join the family in the summer, there are so many girls on my husband's side of the family. My side is just men, aside from Isabella and me, so quite the opposite.
I finally got around to putting one of our scan photos into this frame I've had for years. We've had quite a few more scans this time around, especially in early pregnancy and it is has been fascinating seeing the various stages of a baby growing. The last scan I'm hoping to get booked in is a 4D scan, though we only have around 2 weeks left before baby gets too big and life is pretty busy at the moment. We had one with Isabella though, so I feel the pressure to be 'fair' and get one done for this baby too.
What have you been loving this week?
Feel free to leave a comment - I love reading every single one :)
