Starting as a ride-on toy, the scooter has a seat and O-bar handle so that toddlers can be pushed around or push themselves around using their feet. I remember when Isabella was first starting to get the grip of ride-on toys she could only go backwards, reversing everywhere she went! Nowadays she's mastered the skill of going forward and can get around impressively quickly with the Mini Micro 3 in 1 in this stage The seat is suspended, so she also likes to put her feet underneath the seat, resting them on the base part of the scooter and be pushed around. It is also slightly padded, has adjustable height and has a handle at the back, which makes carrying the scooter (if you're little one has ever owned one then you''ll know that, despite all best intentions, at some point you'll be left carrying it!) a lot easier. It is also relatively lightweight, making the inevitable carrying situation even more manageable.
The next stage the 3 in 1 scooter can be in is to still have the O-bar, but lose the seat. This is the mode which is ideal for toddler's to first learn how to scoot because the bar is low enough for the to reach, the O-bar is easier to grip for little hands and the scooter has two wheels at the front acting a bit like stabilisers. Micro Scooter suggest this mode is suitable from around 18 months+ when children are starting to have greater control and learn the 'lean and steer' scooting style. I like that this stage not only gets toddler's moving (using up that endless energy!), but it also greatly improves children's balance and co-ordination. This is the stage toddler's will begin to learn how to brake, but luckily Micro Scooter have designed a brake that works when even the slightest pressure is exerted. Toddler's will gain confidence and control, while learning a new skill.
The final stage is removing the O-bar and replacing it with a classic T-bar. This has been Isabella's favourite way of using the Mini Micro 3 in 1 because the bar is adjustable and can be raised to exactly the right height for her. It also means that it can be adjusted as she grows up, all the way until around her 5th birthday. I can't believe how quickly Isabella got the hang of scooting; I can only imagine what a whizz she'd be if she'd had this scooter since her first birthday!
As the Mini Micro 3 in 1 Deluxe Scooter grows with your child it makes the ideal first birthday or Christmas present, so that your child can make the most of it's three stages. I've found that we've changed between all three modes depending on the time of day, occasion and/or what Isabella wants to do. However, the least used stage has been the O-bar by itself because it is a bit short for Isabella now that she's 2.5 years old.
Here are some of Isabella's scooting adventures so far...
You can pick up the Deluxe in aqua, blue, pink or purple, so something for everyone. There is also a Classic version of the Mini Micro 3 in 1 Scooter (£94.95) available in red, blue or pink. The main difference is that the Classic doesn't have an adjustable T-bar, something worth considering if you're looking to buy one.
Overall, Isabella has been having so much fun over the summer and into autumn on the Mini Micro 3 in 1 Deluxe Scooter. It has allowed her to gain some independence, learn a new skill and develop her co-ordination/gross motor skills.
What is your favourite feature of the Mini Micro 3 in 1 Deluxe Scooter?

ReplyDeleteWow, I've never seen a three-in-one scooter but what a brilliant idea. We steered away from a scooter for our son but if we were ever in the market again, this would definitely be on our wish list. I love that it is changeable and that it grows with them.
ReplyDeleteSebby has a mini micro since he was a toddler and its amazing how quickly they pick it up
ReplyDeleteI really love the idea of a 3 in 1 scooter and it is great that it has been blogger approved. I think my foster sister would like this x

ReplyDeleteI adore micro scooters, my eldest has one of the Maxi versions and it is still going strong some 4 years later.
ReplyDeleteHow adorable is she. I've been thinking of getting my daughter a new scooter, I like the seating it comes with.
ReplyDeleteWe are huge fans of Micro Scooters in our house! My eldest two had Mini Micros and now have the two wheelers for older children which they love while my youngest now has their old Mini Micros. I have seen the three in one models when we have been out and about in the park and they look great. I don't think they existed when my kids were little but they would have been great.
ReplyDeleteThis looks absolutely fab. I love that it has a sit on bit for when they are really young. I love products that grow with them! Thanks for linking up with #TwinklyTuesday
ReplyDeleteThis is so sweet! Thanks for sharing! My impression is that these baby scooters prove really helpful in developing baby mentally and physically both. Riding toys are a great option for any kid. My daughter loves her scooter so much :)
