CHRISTMAS: Gift Guide for Toddlers 2020

CHRISTMAS: Gift Guide for Toddlers 2020
*Advertorial Content - Gifted Items
The world suddenly becomes so much bigger when our little ones become toddlers'; there's so much to explore and discover that it makes buying gifts for Christmas really exciting. Once babies become toddlers they are more aware, interested in 'playing' with toys and learn at such an impressive rate. I have to say that buying presents for toddlers has to be one of my favourite ages because there is just so much choice and you can start to appeal to their personal interests too. This year I have tried to include a whole range of gift ideas within this Gift Guide, so that it covers all price points and interests, while being mindful that the world we live in at the moment isn't what it used to be.

Chipmunks have an impressive range of footwear for babies, toddlers and children, including wellies, boots, sandals, school shoes and slippers. Their footwear always stands out as being outstanding quality, sturdy, supportive and cleverly designed. These Riley Tan Suede Boots have brogue detailing, are made from real suede and have a chunky non-slip/non-marking sole. They're such a classic design that works with every outfit, smart or casual and provides our little ones with protection while walking around. The elastic side panels and easy pull on tab make putting these boots on wriggly toddlers much faster and when they get slightly older helps them independently put them on too. The Riley boots are also available in black patent and navy suede, as well as coming in sizes ranging from Infant 4-13 and Junior 1-2.
Magical bedding is always going to put a big smile on a toddler's face and make bedtime that bit easier too. Bloomsbury Mill have a whole host of fun, colourful duvet sets, including outer space, grey & white stars, farmyard animalsdinosaur world, construction vehicles, woodland animals and many more. If your toddler or child loves unicorns (like my two daughters do!) then they'll love the Magic Unicorn Duvet Set, which is available in either Cot Bed size or Single Bed. The design includes magical fairies, unicorns, rainbows and princess castles and is made from a soft, easy care cotton blend. The benefits of that for us parents, is that the bedding dries quickly, requires minimal ironing and is durable too. Also available is this bright, colourful Safari Animals design (again, in either Cot Bed or Single sizes), which would be the perfect choice for an animal lover. Your little one will be able to go on a safari from the comfort of their bedroom by spotting a wide range of animals, from flamingos and giraffes to lions and elephants.

When you become a parent you quickly learn that you need to be prepared for all eventualities at all times, don't you? Whether it be spare clothes, a warm blanket or a versatile towel...you never know what life might throw at you when you have a child in tow. This is why giving them their own special towel means that both them and you are covered for most adventures. Rex London have recently added a range of Microfibre Towels to their beautiful range of gifts for the whole family; with patterns appealing to younger children all the way through to adults. These include Love Birds, Astrid Flower and Space Age, all of which are lightweight, absorbent and compact too. They're perfect for taking to the beach, swimming, picnics, keeping in the back of the car for cleaning up after muddy walks etc.
Tableware for babies and toddlers doesn't only need to be functional, but it can be beautiful too. BABYBJÖRN have a stylish range of tableware available in an array of pastel shades to suit every home. The Baby Dinner Set contains a sturdy trefoil design plate to make scooping food up easier, an easy-to-grip spoon, a fork perfectly deigned for little hands, a stable cup that is difficult to knock over and a large bib with an adjustable neckband. Not only do you get all of this, but it also comes beautifully displayed inside a gift box. My eldest had a BABYBJÖRN bib when she was a baby and it was incredible because the scoop was large enough to catch all of her dropped food, whilst the neckband was easily adjustable and it lasted us for years and years! Every aspect of each product is specifically designed to make a baby or toddler's life easier when it comes to feeding themselves, as well as our lives easier as parents with designs to minimise mess and easy dishwasher cleaning. This gift set is also available in Powder Pink, Powder Blue and Powder Yellow
Keeping toddlers entertained is notoriously challenging, so finding toys that have many different features to explore is always a winner. Casey The Caterpillar from PoundToy is designed to engage your little ones senses, while keeping them entertained. It comes with three individual activity balls, all of which are designed to clip together to create the caterpillar. Each activity ball can be spun, rolled, twisted, has a variety of surface textures to explore and is brightly coloured to appeal to toddlers. Casey The Caterpillar is suitable from 12 months+ and has provided Rory with endless fun!
Silver Stars Slippers (from £13.49) and Pink Slippers (from £12.99) from Dotty Fish
Keep those little toes warm during the winter months with Dotty Fish's range of snuggly slippers. They come in an array of colours (tan, navy and pale grey, as well as these two beautiful colours), are super soft and come in sizes ranging from 0-6 months all the way to 5-6 years. All of their slippers are made with premium suede (that is baby safe and chrome free) with a snug fleece inner lining making them the cosiest slippers. They also have a slip resistant sole, which is ideal for anyone with laminate flooring, tiles or wooden flooring. The elasticated ankle trim helps make them easy to get on and off, keep feet extra snug, yet make it slightly trickier for your little one to continually take the slippers off themselves. The slippers arrive in an organza bag, which makes them perfect for gift giving this Christmas.

Anything that lights up, playing music and can be activated by your toddler is always going to be one of their favourite toys instantly. This Interactive Musical Lantern captures in the attention of toddlers instantly and the big, easy to press musical button means they can keep themselves entertained for a long time. It has a wind up base that spins the lantern, is the perfect size for little hands and comes in either blue or red. You pull up the lantern to turn it on and then close it to switch it off, ready to be played with again another day.
Experience water without getting wet with Cbeebie Puddle Mat! The mat is ideal for babies who enjoy tummy time all the way through to toddlers. All you do is fill the mat with water and air, then let your little one 'splash' around on the mat and chase around the floating characters. It is ideal for supporting their hand-eye coordination, as well as for learning shapes/colours when they're older. I love that it doesn't create a mess and Rory really enjoyed pushing the shapes around in the water.
Disney's Frozen films and characters just seem to rise in popularity year on year; they really have captured the imagination of millions of young children. Children can bring the magic to life with these Elsa and Anna Plushies, which are made from quality materials and you can also pick up Olaf and Sven to truly set the Frozen 2 scene. These plushies are perfect for such a range of ages and can be cared for as 'dolls', be cuddled at bedtime or simply played with for hours on end.
Little ones always seem to be hungry, don't they? During the winter months being able to take hot food out with you for picnics or visiting family/friends is the perfect way to warm up. Nuby's Insulated Thermos Food Jar with Spork keeps food warm for five hours and cool for seven hours, so can be used throughout the year. It is ideal for meals such as soups, casseroles, spaghetti bolognese etc. or keeping snacks cool like chunks of cheese, grapes, yogurt etc. The compact design makes it easy to fit into your changing bag and the fact it comes with a handy spork means you have everything you need to feed your child in one place.
Water magic is the best kind of magic because no mess is created, yet all the fun can be had. All you have to do is fill the pen up with water, then let your little one 'colour' all over the different pages. As they glide the water pen over the pages they reveal bright colours, pretty patterns and quite literally bring the magic to life! A really engaging feature of this activity book is that it isn't simply a colouring book; your little one can answer questions, follow mazes and colour in animals. Also once dried, each page is reusable time and time again. Smiggle have this pink version of the Water Magic Activity Book, as well as a blue version filled with fun monsters.
Playing peek-a-boo is such a simple activity that brings a lot of joy to toddlers and now they can play their own peek-a-boo with the Melissa & Doug Deluxe Pounding Bench. This solid wood pounding bench has eight non-removeable pegs, which means the pegs can never get lost! Each one has a happy smiley face on and they're different colours, so it can be used as a fun tool to support your child's understanding of colours. A sturdy wooden mallet is included, so children will love hitting the pegs down and watching the other side pop up. Melissa & Doug have a whole range of outstanding wooden toys for all ages, so it is well worth checking out what they have to offer this Christmas.
I have a range of gift guides for this festive season, including Children £10 and UnderGrown UpsGrown Ups £20 and Under and an Advent Calendar Guide for the Whole Family if you're in need of some more inspiration.

Which of these gifts do you think the little ones in your life would love?

Feel free to leave a comment - I love reading every single one :)
