REVIEW: Clothies - a modern alternative to muslin cloths

I don't know how many times my husband and I have left the house with Isabella's milky sick on our clothes. She has an incredible skill of missing the muslin cloth and covering us instead. This was until we started using the Woodland Print Clothies* (£14.99).
They are super absorbent, stylish burp cloths that will put a stop to those pesky sick marks. The Clothies burp clothes are made with 100% cotton fabric and 100% polyester super soft micro fleece backing, the designs are so cute! You buy the Clothies in sets of three, each of which has a different design.

There are 10 different main designs, including apples, pears, blue zoo, lilac birds, dinosaurs and sleepy owl - lots of choice for both girls and boys. There are also currently 9 limited edition sets, which are worth snapping up before they're not available anymore! They even have festive designs for Christmas time.

The fantastic feature of these burp cloths is that they sit on the shoulder or over your hand perfectly, which makes the challenge of burping even easier. It would be good if they were slightly wider, so that there was some spare material to catch/wipe any sick that doesn't head straight down. Now that Isabella wriggles around her head doesn't always stay in the middle of the Clothies. She has also found strength in her legs and will straighten them out if we burp her before she's full, making burping seriously difficult! Anyone else's little one do that?

The super absorbent backing really does absorb all of Isabella's milky sick, more so than muslin cloths. I'm not saying muslin cloths don't have a place in our home, they do, we use them as blankets, mopping up random milky sicks, shade protectors or when the Clothies are being washed. But we now use these Clothies when burping Isabella and I can't recommend them enough!

Which is your favourite Clothies design?

  2. I love the look of these, they're so pretty and useful too! They're a tad more expensive than I'd like to pay but in comparison with the likes of Aden & Anais, they are reasonable. Will have to check their site out :)

  4. These look so lovely BUT muslins are amazing. It's a bit like trying to reinvent the wheel. I think I'd want these AND muslins x

    1. I'm exactly the same - there's still very much a use for muslin cloths in our lives but these Clothies make the ideal addition when burping :)
