HOLIDAY: Packing with the LittleLife Bee Suitcase

Packing for a baby is never an easy task - how can something so small need so much? Once you've packed the essentials: clothes, travel cot, nightwear, sleeping bag, bottles, milk, food, calpol for inevitable poorly timed holiday illnesses, nappies, wipes, swimwear, shoes, coats, blankets, baby monitor, nightlight, pushchair etc. you're still not done. Taking entertainment for your baby is personally an essential, Isabella rarely sits still but is always wanting to play with something. I'd much prefer that to be one of our toys than an item in the lodge that isn't ours - no one wants to have to pay for breakages!
Recently we went on holiday to Forest Holidays Blackwood Forest in Hampshire, our luxury woodland cabin was set in a truly beautiful forest amongst the wildlife. Their log cabins are self catering, which was ideal for us now that we have Isabella. Her bedtime is 6pm, so there's no evening meals out or late night strolls anymore. We therefore spent cosy afternoon/evenings in, with the log fire burning while Isabella played with her toys. Taking enough entertainment for her was essential - it kept her happy and gave us a few minutes peace.
We used this adorable Bee Suitcase* from LittleLife (£39.99) to take all of Isabella's entertainment, it was the perfect size and we could even fit in a couple of essentials too. The various smaller compartments inside the suitcase were ideal for keeping her small toys/essentials, such as hair clips and toy cars. The main compartment is a spacious 20 litres, so plenty of space to fill with entertainment for a week away! Having a two-stage telescope handle makes transporting the suitcase around very easy, as parents our hands are always full at the best of times. It's the ideal height for children to pull along themselves, one less thing for you to carry around! LittleLife suitcases also meet airline hand luggage requirements so worth considering if you're heading abroad.
I love the cute bee design and I'm sure Isabella will fully appreciate it too when she's a bit older, for now she loved patting/tapping the different colours. As it's such a fun design we left it out in the lodge's living room, so that Isabella could lift up the lid and access the toys herself. The fact that they double up as toy storage just adds to the appeal of the LittleLife suitcases. You can also pick up a clownfish, dinosaur, ladybird, turtle or Marvel Spiderman suitcase from LittleLife, plenty of choice for everyone.
The main items we packed to keep Isabella entertained were:

Monkey puppet
Books
Rubber duck
Wooden car
Stacking cups
What are your entertainment essentials for your children?
