AUTUMN: Toddler Friendly Mulled Apple Water

Autumn and Winter for us adults is all about warm drinks, all things spiced and snuggling up...bliss. So why can't it be like that for toddler's too? This Mulled Apple Water is free from any refined sugars, full of spice and the perfect way to introduce new flavours to your toddlers. You may need to tweak it according to your toddler's personal preference, star anise is a strong flavour so you may want to avoid it if they don't like really strong flavours. You obviously need to be careful that it is cool enough for your toddler to enjoy, no one wants a burnt tongue!

What you'll need:
3 tsp Apple puree (you could use homemade, a pouch or apple juice)
1/2 cup of water
1 Star anise
1/2 tsp Ground cinnamon
Apple and pear slices
1/4 tsp Ground ginger

What to do:
1) Place all of the ingredients into a small saucepan and warm through gently. Stir relatively quickly to start with, in order to combine the water and apple puree.
2) Once it is warm pour into a glass or beaker. You will probably want to remove the star anise and fruit slices. They can be enjoyed with natural yogurt or just as finger food once cool enough.
