The weather was so lovely at the start of the week, driving to work in the sunshine is such a nice way to start the day. I felt so ready for the week ahead, it's actually my birthday today too! But then I picked Isabella up from nursery on Tuesday and she had red/gunky eyes, poor little munchkin had conjunctivitis. I then had to have Wednesday off work, which really stressed me out. I really hate the feeling of letting people down, so spent most of Wednesday worrying about what people were thinking/saying about me. Luckily Isabella was fine in herself, so we had a day of puzzles and a short walk around the village. Somehow now it's my birthday and I don't quite know how we got to the 10th March so quickly!
I haven't had much time to read a lot this week unfortunately. Must get back on it next week!
The Replacement on BBC. This is one intense watch, a sit on the edge of your sofa type programme. The first half of the first episode is a bit slow, but stick with it because by the end you'll be gripped and left asking so many questions. TV is sorted for the start of the week, with Broadchurch on a Monday and The Replacement on a Tuesday. Eagerly waiting for the return of Line of Duty now!
The words 'We've finished' from the builders. For the past few weeks we've shared our house with a fair few builders/electricians and it's been a bit tricky at times. Isabella's struggled to nap due to loud noises, the backdoor has been open for most of the day making the house pretty cold, everywhere has been covered in dust and we've been without a washing machine. But now we have an almost finished new utility room and downstairs toilet! We still need to paint it and do the little finishing off jobs, but we're so happy with the results. Though I keep forgetting we have a downstairs toilet and am yet to use it.
Party plans. Isabella turns two in less than a month and we decided pretty late that we were going to throw her a birthday party in a local community hall. Last year we had her birthday party in our house (have a nosey here) and I loved using it as a distraction from returning to work. Everything was planned, sourced and organised to the finest detail, which I'd love to do this time too. However I now work, have a toddler, am pregnant and making many home renovations. Having said that I do love a bit of party organising and have been making lots of plans over the past week. It's suddenly approaching quickly, so we've been shopping and sourcing different aspects. We've decided on a floral bunny theme this year, mainly because it is almost Easter so the shops are filled with appropriate party decorations and accessories.
Yesterday our plans completely changed after the battery warning light came on in my car. We were heading to the doctors (with 5 minutes until the appointment!) when it came on, so I pulled over and rang my Dad. He said I was best to go home and ring the garage, not my favourite activity as I know nothing about cars. Long story short I'm dropping my car off at the garage this morning and they're going to fix it for me, phew! So instead of a boring trip to the doctors Isabella and I went for a walk in the beautiful sunshine. We found a ladybird, fish, some boats, heard birds tweeting and spotted two tractors...toddler's morning made.
What have you been loving this week?
Feel free to leave a comment - I love reading every single one :)
