My baby turned two this week and I've been feeling so emotional about it all. Pregnancy hormones aren't helping, but the thought of leaving Isabella when I go into labour, it not being the three of us, her struggling to deal with having a sibling, the guilt that our second baby will never have had what Isabella has had as our first child, it's all enough to set me off. It has generally been a much happier week though, with birthday celebrations and my last 'proper' day at work.
Bumps, Birth & Beyond magazine. This isn't a magazine I had come across before, but while waiting for our 4D baby scan the lady working there kindly gave me a copy. It's such a good read with interesting articles, nursery/travel/fashion inspiration and reviews. I'll be keeping my eye out for where to buy it in the future - if anyone knows please let me know :)
One Born Every Minute. A new series seems to be starting every week at the moment! It's so surreal watching OBEM while being pregnant again, it strangely makes me so excited for labour and giving birth. We were just starting to watch OBEM two years ago when my waters broke and I went into labour with Isabella, so it reminds me of that special moment now.
Happy Birthday to You song. Isabella turned two this week, which I can barely believe. She was at nursery on her birthday (I find it so strange that what was such an important day in our lives, in fact life changing, soon becomes just another day each year. Work doesn't stop. Life doesn't stop to allow us to celebrate.) so my husband and I came home from work early so we could pick her up together. She was so excited to see the both of us and then we headed home to make fairy cakes and open a few presents. Isabella's concentration on opening presents is limited, as she gets side-tracked with each present. There are still a few to open!
Fruity Yogurt Ice Lolly. It has been so warm the last few days, so I've gone back to making Isabella fruity ice lollies. They're so easy and quick to make - just spoon some yogurt into a lolly mould, add chopped fresh fruit and pop in the freezer for a couple of hours. This time it was strawberry yogurt and blueberries, but the options are endless! I also like making smoothie ice lollies by simply freezing any leftover smoothie.
Kozi-Kidz Raincoat. The thick winter coats have officially been packed away and the light raincoats have made an appearance. We had this Kozi-Kidz raincoat last year for Isabella and it still fits, which is a bonus. I love the polka dot pattern and slightly longer design, keeping Isabella drier during April showers.
I had my last 'proper' day at work this week before maternity leave starts. I say proper because I still have five days left, but spread over the next four weeks or so. It therefore feels like I'm pretty much done, which is so exciting. I'm excited to start focusing on this little one in my tummy and get some jobs done prior to her arrival. We still need to get Isabella's 'big girl' room sorted out, get some decorating done and just little things, like have my hair cut and go to the dentist. It's already been so nice not to have to work in the evenings.
What have you been loving this week?
Feel free to leave a comment - I love reading every single one :)
Helen x
