FAMILY: Adventures around Copenhagen with Blunts Shoes

FAMILY: Adventures around Copenhagen with Blunts Shoes

Exploring new places and going on adventures as a family is how we would choose to spend every weekend if we could. The excitement of stumbling across somewhere beautiful, with plenty of space for the children to run around, is a big part of our quality family time together. Ensuring we all have appropriate footwear is really important, especially for Isabella and Poppy as they need that extra support for growing feet. Blunts Shoes was established in 1865 and have been selling footwear ever since, so it's fair to say they are experts in the area. They have 17 stores across the Midlands, but also have an impressive range of shoes, boots and sandals on their website too. As a parent it is very convenient to have the option to either buy online or in-store, as shopping with children in tow isn't always the easiest task.
Blunts Shoes range of footwear includes something for the whole family; making even more convenient when it comes to being the 'one-stop-shoe-shop' for everyone. As soon as you browse their website you can see quite how vast their range of footwear is for both ladies and men, as well as girls and boys. There are: shoes, canvas, sandals, trainers, boots, slippers, wedding shoes, wellingtons, safety footwear and school shoes, so well and truly something for every occasion.
Another appealing feature of shopping at Blunts Shoes is the impressive array of brands that they stock, including: Clarks, Start-rite, Down to Earth, Rieker, Skechers, Van Dal, Caterpillar, Bugatti, Base London, Crocs, Disney, Hello Kitty, Spot On, Reflex, Adidas, Regatta and Cutie. As a lot of these are familiar brands it makes it easier to decide which size/fit to buy either your child or yourself.

For our recent adventure to Copenhagen as a family Blunts Shoes kindly sent Isabella, Poppy and I a range of their boots to try out, which was very exciting. It also came at the perfect time, as both girls were in need of the next size up in boots for this winter/spring. After a lot of browsing and deliberating (there are so many beautiful boot options for the girls) I settled on the Girls Clarks Snow Boots 'Snow Day G' (£28) for Isabella, which were just perfect for our holiday in Copenhagen. Although during our trip it was a lot warmer than usual there, it was still cold and these snow boots kept Isabella's feet nice and toasty. The fleece lining, Velcro fastenings, calf high length and the support you'd expect from any Clarks all worked together to make these Isabella's new favourite shoes, her words, not mine. The Velcro fastenings meant she could easily get them on and off independently and the sturdy yet supportive base helped to keep her feet comfortable, despite all the walking you inevitably during a city break.

When it came to choosing Poppy some boots it was a bit trickier because she still hasn't mastered walking in mid-calf length boots; she just spends the whole time falling over, bless her. Baring this in mind I settled on the Girls Start-rite Ankle Boots 'First Chelsea' in Navy (£42.99), which are simply beautiful with their delicate floral pattern printed onto the elasticated part of the boots. They are also available in Purple and Tan, but those colours don't have the floral pattern on. These Chelsea Boots are the ideal first boot option for your little one because they have the rubber soles wrapping around the front of the boots to aid walking and the ankle height doesn't inhibit their ability to walk independently. As soon as Poppy put these one she was running around in them without a problem and I liked that the ankle height kept her feet warmer while we were in Copenhagen. If these boots weren't dreamy enough Blunts Shoes actually have matching boots for older children; the Infant Girls Start-rite Ankle Boots Chelsea (£43), which both the Navy and Burgundy come with the floral pattern on the side. It's twinning heaven and certainly on Isabella's wish list!

Finally, it felt like such a treat choosing some new boots for myself as that is something that very rarely happens these days. I settled on the Ladies Down to Earth Heeled Chelsea Boots in Black (usually £27.99, but currently reduced to £19.99) due to the slight heel which I thought would be flattering and the ankle height to keep my feet warm while we were in Copenhagen. These boots are also available in Burgundy, but I went for the black so that they would go with every outfit easily. I previously haven't owned any boots with a slight heel, but they are such an easy and comfortable way to smarten up any outfit. As the heel so chunky they are incredibly easy to walk in and comfortable too. There is a zip fastening on the inside of the boots and the hidden elastic panel makes them quick to get on and off; a parenting essential in my mind.

Overall we have all absolutely loved our boots from Blunts Shoes; the quality, style and range available have all been exactly what I look for when buying footwear for my family, which is why I would highly recommend them if you're in need of some new shoes. It won't be long and we'll all be browsing the sandals for those warm summer days, which is pretty exciting!
Where is your next adventure going to be?
