10 THINGS: To do whilst feeding your baby

10 THINGS: To do whilst feeding your baby
Bottle or breastfeeding babies takes a lot of time in those early months especially. Days would pass and I swear I hadn't done anything other than feed Isabella, all in a sleepy daze. Before you know it those long feeds are distant history and you have a baby that crawls/climbs around so you can say goodbye to any level of relaxing during the day! Below are my top 10 things to do during the longer feeds, they may seem like they'll never end but they will and you will have lost that precious 'sitting down' time. Embrace it!

FAMILY TRAVEL: 10 Things that Make Going on Holidays with Children Easier

FAMILY TRAVEL: 10 Things that Make Going on Holidays with Children Easier
Back in July I posted all about our first family holiday with Isabella. We ventured down to Cornwall and had a lovely time exploring the beautiful beaches and towns in Cornwall and Devon. Packing for our first holiday as a three and with a 11 week old baby took some planning. Now we've returned and experienced the wonders of holidaying with a baby I thought I'd share my tips on how to make it an easier experience for everyone.

PARENTHOOD: 10 Things that Worried us with our Newborn Baby

PARENTHOOD: 10 Things that Worried us with our Newborn Baby
We had so many worries in those early weeks of parenthood, anything that didn't seem 'normal' was a concern. We would ring the midwife, ask the Health Visitor or look online for advice about anything and everything our baby was going through.

10 THINGS: That changed postpartum

If I compare my body pre pregnancy to post pregnancy I'm like a different person. So much has changed permanently, somethings probably temporarily but without a doubt my body has changed A LOT.

10 THINGS: To do in the first month of parenthood

1) Take a lot of photographs - it's amazing how quickly they change! Also make sure that you are in the photos sometimes, we've got loads of my husband and daughter but not as many with me in. Something we are going to change.

10 THINGS: I cannot leave the house with now I have a baby!

Oh how times have changed. My life no longer consists of grabbing my randomly filled handbag as I leave the house, I'm now grabbing a changing bag which has been packed with thought and precision. Every parent will know that leaving the house with a baby or child in tow is no easy task. It takes planning, preparation and packing of your changing bag - the three p's. I've now been a Mummy for over 10 weeks, so I've got what I need for a little baby down to a fine art.

10 THINGS: I have learnt since becoming a Mum

How to...

1) Do a full face of make up in under 5 minutes.

2) Make a cup of tea/sandwich/dinner/anything one handed.

3) Fall asleep quickly. It's a must.

4) Value and treasure every moment (see what I did there?!)

5) Get an arm workout without being anywhere near the gym - babies start off pretty light but they get heavier!

6) Love like I had never loved before.

7) Get away with not washing my hair for three days - dry shampoo is my best friend. I try not to do this too often but getting time to wash my hair is a luxury now.

8) Be ok with being covered in my baby's sick, wee, poo, saliva. It's all part of the journey, right?!

9) Function on very little sleep - it's incredible what our bodies can survive on. I thought I was tired during the third trimester but oh no, nothing like having baby. You get less sleep but that is to be expected and actually, I'm ok with that.

10) Congratulate another human being for pooing, weeing, parping, burping and generally doing anything that wouldn't usually be discussed and certainly not welcomed with a 'yay - well done'.

What did you learn when you first became a parent?

Feel free to leave me a comment :)
