BEAUTY: Wet n Wild Mega Last Matte Lipsticks

While I was in America a month or so ago I decided to take the plunge and get a range of coloured lipsticks! I know, radical. I usually wear lip gloss or more often just lip salve, so lipstick is quite a jump. The Wet n Wild Lipsticks were on offer in Walgreens, a popular pharmacy, so I picked up 4 very different colours. These were about $1.50 each, so very cheap! As I'm pretty new to lipsticks I'm not an expert on what you should expect from a lipstick.

I picked up four shades:

Cherry Picking

Just Peachy
Cherry Bomb
Mauve Outta Here

The longevity of these lipsticks was ok - I found that the initial colour came off quite easily but they did 'dye' my lips. In fact I did end up using them as more of a lip dye than a lipstick, as the colour pigment lasted better.

If you want a cheap lipstick that are quite well pigmented and are available in a wide range of shades, then you'll love the Wet n Wild range! They are available on amazon within the UK, for around £2 each.

BEAUTY: Avon Lipstick in Charged Cherry

Lipstick is very much a new beauty venture for me, I'm still not used to wearing it and do manage to get it everywhere! Nonetheless I do love the look lipstick can give and how it somehow 'completes' a look, especially for a special occasion. I won this Avon Ultra Colour Rich Mega Impact Lipstick in Charged Cherry well over a year a go now and it sat unloved at the bottom of my dressing table draw. At the time I won it I wasn't wearing lipstick at all, in fact the idea of wearing it put fear into me. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be available from Avon anymore but you can buy it from amazon and eBay. However Avon do have a fantastic range of lipsticks and some great offers going on at the moment, which you can see here.
Firstly, how stunning is the shape of this lipstick?! It is perfect for creating exact lines and applying it neatly to your cupid's bow area of your lips. As there are more exact points with this lipstick, it also makes it very easy to touch up your lipstick (when you've forgotten you're wearing it and wiped your lips with your hands!).
I chose Charged Cherry when I won this, I thought it was going to be a deep red but it's actually more of a pinky red. That is one downfall of buying make up online, it's so hard to know what the actual colour will be like in real life. Charged Cherry also has a fine shimmer/glitter to it, ideal for special occasions!

As you can see, the colour enhances the colour of my lips rather than adding a drastic colour on top. It's a very wearable lipstick that has fairly good staying power. Overall, I'm impressed with this Avon lipstick and have challenged myself to wear lipstick even more often now! I'm going out for a meal on Saturday (for my birthday that was on Monday) and I'm aiming to wear a lipstick - I usually chicken out last minute, so follow me on instagram (treasure_e_m) if your interested to see how I do :)

Have you tried any of the Avon lipsticks?

BEAUTY: Carmex Moisture Plus Berry Sheer Tint

I actually won this Carmex Moisture Plus Berry Sheer Tint (£4.29 from Superdrug) from Carmex Twitter on the run up to Christmas, hence no original packaging. I like the Carmex Strawberry Tube, as an everyday lip balm but to be honest I hadn't tried many of the other Carmex products. Winning the Carmex Advent Christmas Cracker, which was filled with Carmex products, has opened my eyes to the wonder of Carmex!

This Berry Sheer Tint lipstick/lip balm applies really well, it glides on leaving a shiny, red colour that compliments my skin tone perfectly. This is my new favourite wearable lipstick, it's not so pigmented that it provides a deep colour. This really appealed to me, as I'm still relatively new to wear lipstick and I like the fact that this one doesn't get everywhere! My real issue with the highly pigmented lipstick is that somehow I get it everywhere - on my hands, teeth, face, clothes - I don't know how but it just happens! I'm still very much wearing a lipstick 'L' plate!

As you can see below you get a lovely shiny (not shimmery) light red colour, making your lips look 'kissable' and well moisturised. Some lipsticks can have quite a drying effect on my lips but this isn't an issue with this product.

'Berry Sheer Tint Carmex Moisture Plus provides an ultra-hydrating formula that goes deep, broad spectrum sun protection, plus a sheer berry tint that matches any look. Nourish and Protect Formulated with vitamin E and full-spectrum SPF 15. Health-Boosting Ingredients Shea butter and aloe for exceptional softness. Sheer Genius Adds sheer, satin-gloss shine for a glam look.'

In the Carmex Moisture Plus range you can also get: Pink, Peach and Clear.
