Capturing our children's childhood is such a special thing to do, not only for our memories but for theirs too. I have such fond memories of all gathering together to look back through the photo albums of my childhood and children these days are incredibly lucky with quite how many different ways their childhood can be captured. Our parents generation only have a few photographs, our generation have more along with the odd video and the current generation of children we are bringing up have all the digital photos and videos they could ever dream of. But how can you capture your children's childhood in a slightly more creative way?

PHOTOGRAPHY: A Seasonal Outdoor Calendar

Taking photographs has quickly become a passion of mine and something I love to learn more about. As a blogger I have taken countless photos over the past five years, from documenting the run up to our wedding day, through pregnancy and onto parenthood. But my real love for capturing those special moments came when we had children. These days children are incredibly lucky to have so much of their lives captured through photos, films and memory books; they'll quite literally be able to relive their childhood when they're older. How amazing is that? My childhood is contained within a handful of photo albums and there are almost no moving pictures, so I take it upon myself to really try hard to take beautiful pictures of my daughters. I want them to be able to look back at all of our family adventures with fondness and gratefulness that so much was captured.

SUMMER: Taking Family Photographs at Cotswold Lavender

Despite having been to the Cotswolds many times throughout my life I had never heard of Cotswold Lavender before. It was only after I mentioned to a friend at work that I was heading to The Real Flower Confetti Co. Flower Field that they suggested visiting there too. Located just two miles away from the very popular Cotswold village of Broadway, Cotswold Lavender is the home to beautiful rolling lavender fields filled with many different varieties on offer to see. Not only are the so calming to walk around, but they are a photographers dream. The neat rows on rows of bright purple lavender make for a stunning photograph location for families, couples and children.

BLOGGING: How I Approach Writing Brand Content

Brands and Bloggers (or 'influencers') are working together increasingly more, which brings exciting opportunities, dream collaborations and the opportunity to turn a hobby into a job. Though blogging isn't my job, I have had the honour of working with many incredible brands over the years. I started this blog back in 2013, firstly focusing on beauty, then weddings and most recently my journey into parenthood. Over these years I've worked really hard to improve my photography, find my writing style and build up my blog's readership. As a result, I am lucky enough to collaborate with brands every now and again. I thought it might be interesting to share how I approach brand work on my blog and social media platforms, especially focusing on the photography side.

PHOTOGRAPHY: My Top Tips for Capturing Outdoor Childhood Memories

Taking photos of your children in the big outdoors can be really tricky, often resulting in blurry captures that aren't quite what you were going for. As a family we really enjoy exploring new places, so I'm often photographing outside, in pretty gardens or on family walks. But if you do more photography at home then I have shared my tips and tricks for that here. Though I'm no expert when it comes to photography, (I'd definitely fit in the 'beginner' category) I have learnt a few different tips and tricks along the way that I thought I'd share.

PHOTOGRAPHY: How I Prepare and Capture a Photoshoot at Home with my Children

If you've ever tried to take photos of your children, whether you're a blogger or not, then you'll probably know how difficult it can be. Anything from babies being sick, toddlers having tantrums, blurry shots, snotty noses, poor lighting...the list could go on. As someone who takes a lot of photos of my children I have dealt with these challenges on many occasions, but I've also learnt some ways to capture that much wanted shot with relative ease. Now, I'm certainly no photography expert, in fact I'd say I was a complete novice but that doesn't take away from how much I love capturing candid moments and setting up beautiful scenes. Since starting blogging photography has become one of my passions, so getting my first DSLR camera at Christmas was an absolute dream come true. I was lucky enough to receive the Canon EOS 200D, which is compact, easy to use and versatile.

INSTAGRAM: 60 Inspiring Accounts to Follow in 2018

Almost every Friday I enjoy doing #FollowFriday over on my Instagram Stories, along with many others. It's the perfect chance to find new accounts to follow and support the ones I love. As 2017 is coming to an end I thought it would be nice to share the love and pop 60 of my favourite Instagram accounts into one blog post. That way you can enjoy these incredible accounts too! It was hard whittling it down to just sixty because there are so many beautiful Instagram accounts out there. Instagram is such an inspiring (and frustrating...two words... new. algorithm.) platform, with endless special, pretty and magical photos being added each day. Moments are constantly captured and shared, some carefully put together, others quickly captured just at the right moment.

PHOTOGRAPHY: How to Edit DIY Maternity Silhouette Photos using PS Express

On Monday I published the photos from a mini DIY maternity silhouette photoshoot and today I'm going to be taking you through step-by-step how I edited the photos. It's a really quick and simple process and completely free too! I can upload photos straight from my camera onto my phone/tablet via wifi, which makes life so easy and editing pictures really quick. I prefer to edit on my tablet because it has a bigger screen, but this could be done on either.

PREGNANCY #2: DIY Maternity Silhouette Photoshoot

If you follow me over on my social media channels then you'll probably know how tough I found last week. I had gone into labour early with Isabella, so we fully expecting that to happen again but it didn't. I felt like I was entering the unknown, which just made me feel out of sorts and unsettled. I became so emotional and wasn't sure what to do with each day, too scared to leave the house in case my waters broke yet wanting to make the most of the time. So to try and make the most of still being pregnant I decided to do a mini DIY Maternity Silhouette Photoshoot. It took a good few hours, though it didn't feel like that! It's nice to have captured my 39 week bump 'properly' if you will, as I didn't do anything like this when pregnant with Isabella.

This is the eighth and final edition in the 'photography inspiration' series and it's concentrating on the finer details. Carefully thought out decorations really make a difference to a wedding, so it's important they are captured by a lens too.
