PARENTHOOD: Our Bedtime Routine with a 1 and 3 year old

PARENTHOOD: Our Bedtime Routine with a 1 and 3 year old

Our bedtime routine has always been part of the day I really treasure, as we wind down from the busy day and spend some quality quiet time together. Since having two children our bedtime routine has changed, but the main components have stayed the same - bath, book, bottle, bed. While Poppy is still young she has a bottle before bed, whereas Isabella will have a glass of milk at dinner time instead now. We are planning on phasing Poppy's bedtime bottle out soon and replacing it with a glass of milk at dinner time, like Isabella has. But for now it is still part of our routine and one of the only precious one-on-one times I get with Poppy.

REVIEW: Orchard Toys 2 Piece Puzzles

When we arrived home from Iceland Isabella was greeted by a very exciting parcel, Orchard Toys had kindly sent her a set of puzzles to play with. As we quickly approach Isabella turning two (how? what?) she is really getting into jigsaw puzzles and toys that she can demonstrate her ever growing vocabulary. As she's able to speak and understand more she loves the positive reinforcement when she names something correctly or tells me what she's doing.

TODDLER: Le Toy Van Lilys Cottage

As toddler's get older they begin to enter the world of play in the small world. It's a fun and imaginative world where lots can be learnt! A doll's house is perfect for supporting children in entering and enjoying small world play because it provides them with a house more suited to their size.

TODDLER: Fisher-Price Bright Beats Learnin Lights Dance Mat

Don't most babies and toddlers like to dance? I know that Isabella and her little friends have always loved dancing whenever there is a song on, whether that be on an advert, radio, tv programme or simply sung (out of tune if you're anything like me) by a willing adult. There just seems to be an inbuilt desire to boogie away at any opportunity. They're having fun and Isabella's dancing often has me crying with laughter...it's too cute!
