Doesn't everyone like a big mug of thick hot chocolate with marshmallows at this time of the year? I know that I certainly do, as do my brothers! So this year I decided to make one of my brothers a 'Homemade Epic Hot Chocolate Mix', presented in a kilner style jar. This makes a lovely thoughtful present that is relatively cheap to make and easy to make for a number of people. You can also add your own flavourings if you want, for instance 1tsp cinnamon, crushed up peppermint candy canes (like *that* Starbucks Hot Chocolate) or even some dried chilli flakes!
What you'll need:
4 tbsp Cocoa
4.5 tbsp Icing Sugar
2 tbsp Malt Drink (I used Ovaltine)
2 tbsp Cornflour
100g Milk Chocolate
Mini Marshmallows

What to do:
1) Put all of the dry ingredients into your chosen jar and shake it .(It's compulsory you do a little dance when you shake it, otherwise it just won't taste the same!)

I like to top the hot chocolate powder with the grated chocolate, just because it looks pretty! Then put the marshmallows on top.

2) To make the Hot Chocolate you just add 4/5 tbsp of the powder mix into 2 pints of milk. Or I used 2 tbsp to a large mug of milk. Heat the milk over the hob until it is almost simmering, stir in the powder and allow to 'cook' for 2/3 minutes.

3) Once thickened, pour into your chosen Christmassy mug and enjoy!

I've never thought to concoct my own hot chocolate mix - I just go with store brought. It makes a great gift idea... I hope you brother is happy with it. I know I certainly would be!
