EDIBLE GIFT: Hot Chocolate on a Stick and Peppermint Hot Chocolate on a Candy Cane

Every year I see those Hot Chocolate Sticks and think about making them myself. Well this year is the year I have actually made them! They are so easy to make and you can 'pimp' them out with marshmallows, dried chilli flakes, coconut, ginger, coconut etc. As Peppermint Hot Chocolate has been so popular this year I thought I'd make some Hot Chocolate sticks with Candy Canes, as to create that peppermint flavour - mmmm!

What you'll need:

Mini Muffin Tray
Mini Marshmallows
Candy Canes - I got this set from The Range
Chocolate
Christmas Wooden Sticks - these were from The Range

What to do:

1) Melt the chocolate in the microwave - I only tend to melt it in 20 second bursts to make sure it doesn't burn. I used this cute little chocolate melter that Tom gave me for Christmas last year from Lakeland!

2) Once the chocolate is melted and smooth pour it into the muffin tray (I also used little cupcake cases as they work just as well). Before pouring the chocolate into the mould you can add flavourings.

3) Quickly after pouring in the chocolate you need to pop some marshmallows in top. After a couple of minutes the chocolate should start to become more solid again, at this point put in the Christmas wooden stick of peppermint candy cane. Hold in place until the chocolate holds it upright.

4) Leave to completely cool overnight, removed from the tin/case. Wrap in a cellophane or sandwich bag, tie with ribbon and your done! You could make a label explaining to the lucky recipient how to make the hot chocolate - stir into hot milk.

Have you made any edible gifts this year?
