SHOPPING: Beauty Boots Haul

You know when you have an awful week at work and you just feel like eating a whole load of chocolate? Well I had one of those weeks a couple of weeks ago but instead of eating the chocolate (trying to be healthy and all that) I went to Boots and spent far too much. But it's my wedding and honeymoon coming up, so it's completely justified.

I was after a new skincare routine, as the one I had was making my skin worse. There was a 3 for 2 deal on almost all skincare, so I bought a set of three products to hopefully transform my skin. It's early days buts it's going well so far! 3 for 2 offers are so stressful though - does anyone else spend ages trying to find products they want that are the same price so they don't get something a lot less for free? I hope it's not just me. My other latest obsession is all things make up, partially because I'm 'researching' products in readiness for my wedding and partially because I've well and truly been sucked into the beauty YouTube and blogger world!

On to the haul....
^This is the base of my new 'pre-wedding' skincare routine - Nivea Daily Essentials Sensitive Cleansing Milk (£4.10) and 3 in 1 Micellar Cleansing Water (£3.69). Almost all of the skincare in Boots was on 3 for 2, so I bought these two and the next product...^
^Nivea Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer (£4.99) was an interesting find, I've never heard of anything like this before. It's a moisturiser but a primer but a source of hydration for the skin but instantly absorbed. It's a strange one but I really like it so far, I've been using it for just over 2 weeks and I can really see a difference in the dry patches on my face.^
^naked Volume Passionflower & Grape Weightless Conditioner (£4.39) was actually on offer at my local Boots for 98p. I'm not sure why, it was on its normal shelf but the label said clearance. Then, when I looked closer I noticed a number of hair products had been reduced dramatically. It's worth looking along the aisles for 'clearance items' as there are some bargains to be found! I liked the sound of this conditioner and I love the naked range, so I have high hopes.^
^Herbal Essences Bee Strong Strengthening Conditioner (£3.99 for the full size 400ml) was another reduced hair item. This was reduced to 49p - it's the smaller version, so it will be ideal for our honeymoon if I like it. I always love the scents of Herbal Essences shampoos and conditioners but the effect they have on my hair can vary. I'm looking forward to giving this a go.^
^Natural Collection Juicy Lips Gloss in Caramel Shortcake (£1.99) - a trip to Boots wouldn't be complete with a Natural Collection purchase. I've been looking for some nice lip glosses to try for our wedding but haven't been so impressed with this one so far. It doesn't really have much of a pigment and it's quite tacky. I'm going to persevere and see if it can prove me wrong!^
^Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in Ivory (£5.49) - now everyone in the beauty/blogging/youtubers world must have either heard about this, seen someone rave about it or tried it themselves. I had wanted this for ages but hadn't gotten around to buying it. First impressions - impressed. It's such good coverage and does lighten the under eye area, I'm so glad I finally gotten around to buying this.^
^Maybelline Big Eyes Mascara in Waterproof Black (£8.99) is very much part of my quest to find the perfect waterproof mascara that doesn't sting my eyes as soon as I start to tear up, runs down my face or smudges around my eye area. Unfortunately so far I don't think this is the 'perfect waterproof mascara', the formula is very dry and I don't like how short the wands are (because it's double ended). Any recommendations for fantastic waterproof mascaras?^
^Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl in Black (£3.99) is by far my favourite kohl eyeliner I've ever used. It lasts so well, is waterproof, doesn't smudge (however hot the day is) and glides on beautifully. It's an eyeliner dream.^
^Maybelline Super Stay 24H Waterproof Powder in Ivory (£5.99) is part of my other main quest - the perfect long lasting powder. As this states to be waterproof I thought it would be perfect for when I'll inevitably cry on our wedding day. Initial thoughts - I don't like the feeling of applying this powder but it does last really well. I'm loving it paired with a non-waterproof powder.^
^Mini TRESemme Extra Hold Salon Finish Hairspray (£) - does anyone else get ridiculously excited about buying 'minis' for holidays. I do. The honeymoon mini purchases have begun, aided by the 3 for 2 deal Boots had. Hairspray is an essential, nothing too exciting but a mini none the less.^
^Umberto Giannini Glam Hair Backcomb in a Bottle (£) intrigues me. It sounds like a volumising spray/hairspray combination. I've not tried this yet but I'm excited at the possibility of it adding ridiculous volume to my hair. Oh, and it's a mini.^
^Batiste Dry Shampoo in Blush (£) is again an essential and a mini. You all know the wonders of batiste dry shampoo, so I won't bore you with them again. But if it don't know about it, just know it's amazing and you need it.^
^Rimmel Natural Bronzer in Sun Bronze (£) was actually free because I spent over £9 on Rimmel products, which was a complete bonus as I was looking for a bronzer! It's also waterproof and has SPF 15, ideal for summer.^

And that's it for this Boots haul. I predict there will be more mini's and beauty hauls featuring on my blog as the run up to our wedding/honeymoon gets ridiculously close.

Any products I need for our honeymoon?

  1. Apart from Lush shampoo bars, the Naked range at Boots is the only hair care I use! It's actually really good, great value for money even when it's not on offer and cruelty free! Yey!
May have to check out my Boots today and stock up if it's on offer in there too :P
