Almost a year ago I came across a company that sold the cutest accessories for a bridal party but back then we had barely started planning our wedding, let alone buying cute accessories. However, last week that time came. We are now almost 6 weeks away from becoming husband and wife, an exciting and scary mix of emotions come with saying that! Our wedding is happening in almost 6 weeks, whether we're completely ready for it or not, so it's fair to say the final stages of planning have become priorities. I had been meaning to visit this cute companies website for the last couple of months but with one thing or another hadn't got around to it. Now, this company is called Alphabet Bags and they sell gorgeously designed bags and accessories for a range of purposes/occasions. Obviously, I was drawn to the wedding section but I can definitely see myself making another purchase from them after all of this wedding excitement!
You may know by now how much I love a good story behind a company and Alphabet Bags certainly has one. It was created by a husband and wife called Lucas and Hayley, who are just the nicest people to be in email contact with might I add. They shared a love of typography, the alphabet and simple totes and made a business out of it, honestly - hats off to them! I'll often sit at work and wonder what life would be like if I owned my own business. Have I done anything about it? Nope. I have so much respect for anyone that is brave enough to do so.
On to the beautiful products I bought from Alphabet Bags...
The Bride Canvas Pouch in Rose* (£16) was actually the initial item that I saw and fell instantly in love with. As I'm doing my own make up I just knew it would be perfect for keeping my 'special' bridal make up in and would then be a lovely keepsake to remind me of what will hopefully be one of the happiest day of our lives. The pouch is such a good size and is ideal for using in photographs on the big day too, just in case your guests don't realise you're the ever so important bride.
Our wedding ceremony is in a different place to the wedding reception because we're having tipi's, so I thought this 'Here Comes the Bride' Natural Cotton Bag* (£13 or £6 from the Seconds Sale) would be perfect for taking everything I need for the day to the wedding reception. I think my make up bag, hairbrush, hairspray, perfume etc will go in this gorgeous bag, so that I'm fully prepared! I decided to buy this from the Seconds Sale section of the Alphabet Bags website and I was seriously impressed with the quality of a 'second', though it is worth baring in mind that every 'second' has something different 'wrong' with it. The only difference on the bag I received is that the letter printing is slightly patchy, but I think that adds a shabby chic look to it, which I love!
Finally, I saw this 'Exceptionally Handsome Grey Wash Bag'* (£22) and just couldn't resist getting it for Tom, as a honeymoon present. It says 'You Sir, Are Exceptionally Handsome' and is a really good size. I'm always a bit rubbish at being able to visualise how big items are when you are given the measurements but this is a wash bag you could actually fit everything in! It's just so cute and I know Tom will love it when I surprise him with it nearer to our honeymoon.
Which is your favourite items from Alphabet Bags?
Feel free to leave me a comment :)
*I received a discount on these purchases but that hasn't affected my opinions. All opinions are my own and completely honest.
Nice choices, I've bought a couple of seconds bits from them and theres nothing wrong with them that I can see so its a total bargain. I've been eyeing up the wedding bits too, think I'll be getting that bride makeup bag in grey :)
