NEW RELEASE: Sudocrem Care and Protect

Changing nappies and generally caring for our little ones bottoms can feel like a full time job sometimes, especially with a newborn baby. Now that Isabella is 14 weeks old I've had a lot of nappy changing practise, speed is key!

Isabella isn't the biggest fan of having her nappy changed, so we have to try and get it done before the angry/red faced little baby appears - does anyone get that? However, this can be tricky when trying to care for her bottom too and that's when Sudocrem Care & Protect* (£3.99 from Boots) comes into play.

When it comes to having a sore bottom we've been pretty lucky so far, Isabella hasn't had much soreness. I'm not sure whether that's because we've been using Sudocrem Care & Protect and/or we're quick at changing her nappy when its needed. Either way, Care & Protect has provided Isabella with a gentle level of protection that has helped to reduce the risk of nappy rash, as well as helping soothe the slight redness she has had over the past couple of weeks.

It's fantastic that it's gentle enough to be used on newborns because it can be a bit of a challenge to find any products that are suitable for such sensitive, newborn skin. You can also use Care & Protect with every nappy change, again because it's so gentle. This is why this products really appeals to me because I wouldn't use any harsh products on Isabella, as I'm sure a lot of parents wouldn't want to with their own children.

We've actually used this product on Isabella's neck too and it has been a miracle worker! Since Isabella started dribbling loads we have been struggling to keep her neck dry and not sore. Despite constantly changing her bib and drying her mouth her neck was getting red and sore. I mentioned this to the Health Visitor who recommend using Sudocrem as a protective barrier. We had been trying to keep the area dry and therefore not wanting to add any moisture, like a cream. However as soon as we started putting it on Isabella's neck in the morning her neck really started to improve and now a week on and her neck isn't red at all. I really wish I had taken before and after photos but I didn't expect such a difference, so a difference!

Second to the gentle, nappy/dribble rash preventing qualities of Sudocrem Care & Protect, is the clever packaging design. You can open the tube with one hand - every parent out there will know how fantastic that feature is! I also love the size of the tube, it's very travel/changing bag friendly.

^You can see the protective layer, its added that slight sheen to my hand.^

Have you got any other uses for Sudocrem Care & Protect?

Feel free to leave me a comment :)

    1. I know! Where is the time going?! She's actually now 15 weeks too - my little baby isn't going to stay little for long :(

  2. Ah, I never thought of using it on their necks! Jenson dribbles his milk a lot and it goes around his neck. He's a bit of a chunk and I noticed the other day that it has started to rub so I've been wiping his neck over with a wipe each morning when I change him. This sounds like a great help!
