RECIPE: Fruit and Nut Bars

Perhaps unfortunatly these aren't the chocolate fruit and nut bars...these are much more baby friendly or ideal for anyone who is wanting to avoid added sugar. Isabella has been having these for breakfast or as finger food when we're out and about - they don't really crumble, so are relatively mess free. You could make these without the apple slice on top if you don't have any, or add finely sliced fresh apple to the mixture for a more moist bar. The choice is all yours!

What you'll need:
2 tbsp Wholemeal plain flour
4 tbsp Porridge oats
2 tbsp Mixed nuts (unsalted), finely chopped
2 tbsp Mixed dried fruit, finely chopped
2 tbsp Ground almonds
2 tsp Coconut oil, melted
3 tbsp Greek yogurt
1 Apple, finely sliced
1 tbsp Milled linseed, optional
(I buy a bag by Crownfield - it also contains chia seeds, goji berries, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds)

What to do:
1) Preheat the oven to 190'C. Combine the flour, porridge oats, mixed nuts, dried fruit, ground almonds, milled linseed, melted coconut oil and Greek yogurt. The mixture should be pliable yet relatively firm - add as much or as little Greek yogurt as you need to create this texture.
2) Line a baking dish (that has raised edges) with greaseproof paper. Press the mixture into the baking dish to create an even surface.
3) Cut the slices of apple in half and arrange on top, slightly press them into the mixture.
4) Baked for 20-25 minutes or until the apples are turning brown.
5) While still warm cut into bars and allow to cool.

Which fruit is your little ones favourite?
