PREGNANCY #2: Gender Reveal

PREGNANCY #2: Gender Reveal
Last week we had our 20 week scan at the hospital, it was magical watching the baby wriggle around and beginning to get all squashed up in their. I worried that things wouldn't feel quite as special this time around, but I was so wrong. This pregnancy is filled with just as much excitement, magic and incredible moments. When I was pregnant with Isabella we decided to have a private gender scan at 17 weeks, which was later confirmed at the 20 week scan.

We thought a lot about whether we wanted to find out the gender early or not. After weeks of discussing it we decided to wait for the 20 week scan and if they could tell us then that was be amazing, if not then it wasn't meant to be. However, sadly a member of my husband's close family has suddenly fallen seriously ill and we wanted to be able to share what we were having before it was too late. So we decided to pay for a private gender scan at around 16.5 weeks, then only tell immediate family until the gender was confirmed at 20 weeks.

Well the gender was confirmed at our 20 week scan last week (thank goodness, as I may have already bought a few pieces in the sale) and so here we are about to reveal the gender of our second baby.

I couldn't be more excited, so take a last minute guess and let's get on with the announcement...
We are having a GIRL!!!

I feel so extremely lucky to be blessed with two girls (though I know I may not think that once we hit the attitude filled teenage years!), but I mostly feel happy for Isabella. She'll grow up having a sister by her side, something I always wanted but never had. Isabella doesn't really understand that there's a baby in my tummy, let alone that she's about to have a little sister. She absolutely loves her little baby cousin though, so I'm sure she'll be an amazing big sister. I'm so so excited to meet our baby girl now!

Did you guess right?

Feel free to leave a comment  - I love reading every single one :)

    1. If you want to find out the gender then I'd highly recommend getting a private scan. It is completely focused on the gender and watching your baby wriggling around, so it's a very special way to find out :)

    1. Haha! It's so true - I've also had to try and keep my baby clothes buying to a minimum, as we already have so many clothes from when Isabella was a baby!

  14. Congratulations again! I didn't want to say anything else on social media in case I gave the gender away but I feel very lucky to have had a sister - we didn't always get on in our teens but there are things about each other that nobody else understands; it's a special bond.

  18. I love your reveal! I'm pregnant with my second but we decided not to find out the gender. We found out with my first, Doll, and this time we want it to be a surprise. Doll is almost 1y8m and she also doesn't understand. She's in for a big surprise! I know she'll be a great big sister, once she gets over the shock :)
