This week hasn't been the best if I'm honest, we've had some very sad news from my husband's side of the family and its meant we've been a bit all over the place. Sad news aside I had my 28 week midwife appointment, which included a length 2 hour wait as I turned up to my appointment to find the hospital had completely shut down and that all appointments were at a new hospital on the other side of town. Eventually I had my appointment with one of the nicest midwives I've ever encountered, it was just a shame I was trying to rush as I needed to get back to work! Everything was measuring ok, baby's heartbeat was strong and off I went with a new pee pot (oh the glamour).
Birthday cards. Last week I turned the big 2-7 and enjoyed a weekend celebrating with friends and family. My husband surprised me by inviting some of our university friends to stay over and go for a meal. His sister kindly came and babysat while we headed to the local pub for the most delicious meal.
Firstly, can we just talk about The Replacement finale? Anyone else left felt disappointed? I hadn't realised it was only three episodes long and felt that there was so much more they could have got from the storyline. I wish there had been more episodes, exploring the topics covered in a bit more detail. I've also caught up on Stacey Dooley's documentaries on BBC Three. Her documentaries are always so informative, interesting and bring otherwise rarely known serious issues to light.
Not much really. As my car is currently having battery issues I've not even had the radio on in order to try and preserve the battery power. I heard that the Radio 1 #LOLathon was funny, so I need to catch up with the Podcast.
This is a bit of a cheat, as technically my husband made this but it was so good I had to share. For my birthday breakfast I was treated to French toast with Nutella, peanut butter and fresh berries. It's based on a breakfast I used to love from Bill's, but they don't do it anymore. The extra treat was that instead of bread for the French toast it was slices of a croissant loaf from Marks & Spencer's soaked in the eggy mixture and fried. So naughty, but so good!
This stripy maternity dress from New Look via ASOS. It was a bargain buy a few months ago and is so comfortable. It's one of the only items of clothing that I own with the gathered feature on either side of the bump, which makes it extra roomy in the bump area. I also asked for some maternity tights for my birthday and oh my they are the most comfortable things ever! I wear tights every single day, but for some reason never bought maternity tights when pregnant with Isabella. This time around they were just digging in too much, so these maternity tights from Mothercare are just perfect.
Isabella and I arrived at Mums and Tots group a bit early this week, so we went for a little wander to see the sheep and lambs. It really started to feel like spring with the lambs bleating and daffodils springing up everywhere.
What have you been loving this week?
Feel free to leave a comment - I love reading every single one :)

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday. So sorry to hear you had bad news. It's tough when that happens. Hooray for baby alright and nice midwives. Sounds like you are making the most of spring starting. Hope you are having a great weekend. #littleloves
ReplyDeleteThat breakfast looks absolutely amazing! Hope you had a lovely birthday and sorry the week also contained bad news. I'm 27 weeks pregnant and have been wearing maternity tights for a month or two now - they are so much more comfy than having the regular ones digging in! Hope you're having a good weekend x
ReplyDeleteHappy belated birthday, how lovely to be treated with such a breakfast, those pancakes sound amazing, peanut butter and Nutella what a combination. I thought the Replacement ending was a bit odd too, there was a link to the Radio Times where the director explained the ending but we shouldn't need that! Hope you're feeling ok after your sad news.
ReplyDeleteHappy belated birthday, it sounds like you had a lovely time celebrating.
ReplyDeleteAs I mentioned in my Little Loves I felt the same way about The Replacement, it just felt so rushed, so disappointing.
I hope this week is good for you after a rather sad week last week xx
