#LITTLELOVES: Due Date, Silhouettes and Labour Stories

Well I'm now into my fourth week of maternity leave and still no baby! I honestly can't believe it, after having Isabella early I was convinced I'd be early again. This baby is clearly far to happy in there to make an appearance on time! I've had pains on and off during the week, but they've not turned into anything significant and so goes on the 'is this it?' guessing game! I keep going between getting really impatient to meet our second daughter and trying to enjoy the peace before the all consuming life with a newborn. It's a funny one. Other than waiting around for baby to appear I've not done much else, mainly through fear my waters will break if I leave the house alone! They did last time and I don't really want to experience that alone in public, but if it happens it happens.

Second Labour Stories. Since the first trimester I've been really good at staying away from forums. They suck you in and can completely consume your thoughts if you're not careful, so I've found staying clear of them has been good for my mind. However, as labour approaches again I've found myself searching for stories (mainly from back in 2010!) of labour with a baby that is back to back, was born earlier than their due date last time, had a membrane sweep etc. It has, as anticipated, sent my mind into overdrive. If you have any second labour birth stories then please link them down below - I'd love to read them.
Not much to be honest. I've either been busy with blogging or looking after Isabella, so haven't watched much this week. We've caught some of Britains Got Talent, but I'm not its biggest fan. I'm looking forward to Love Island starting next week and am in need of new Netflix series suggestions please, as there's going to be LOADS of time to watch to once this little one arrives.

Laughter. Last weekend we went to my niece's fourth birthday party and I always love seeing Isabella and her cousin interact together. Isabella used to follow her older cousin around, copying everything she did and generally completely admiring her. Nowadays it's a bit of a different story, with them both more than capable of standing up for themselves. However, the main thing that shone through was the laughter they share. This is a photo of Isabella's cousin pushing her on the swing and it was just the sweetest moment to watch and hear.

Birth Plans. Last week I wrote a blog post about my hopes and wishes for my second labour (you can read the post here), which I got written down into my maternity notes this week. I would love to have a water birth, but I think there is only one on the labour ward and it is very much luck to whether it is free or not when you need it. I've not got my heart set on anything, but a few notes have made it feel a lot more real. I just want it to be over now, so I know it's gone ok!

Tight dark clothing. Whit woo! Not. At 39 weeks pregnant pretty much everything is tight, whether it's meant to be or not. But this specific outfit was cobbled together for a mini silhouette maternity photoshoot I had a go at doing on one of the days by myself. After a particularly emotional day I decided to embrace still being pregnant and get some last photos of this bump. There will be a post going up on Monday will all of my photos and then on Wednesday there'll be an easy step-by-step guide on how I edited the photos, but here's a sneak peek...
Just simply - will this be my last week with a toddler and bump? It could be. But if I don't go into labour naturally I won't be induced until 12 days overdue, so it could not be.

What have you been loving this week?

Feel free to leave a comment - I love reading every single one :)

  6. I love your silhouette photos, I wish I had done something similar although our planning for them went out of the window as George arrived prematurely at 33w. I hope baby arrives soon and you get those newborn snuggles you are dreaming of #littleloves

  9. Oh no, four weeks of maternity leave gone! I hope you're not too frustrated. I took the first four weeks off to myself planned because I really wanted a break and to nest before my daughter came. It really helped. I hope your new arrival comes soon. I adore the silhouette style pictures, they're so beautiful! x
