STYLE: A Week of Mummy and Daughter (Breastfeeding Friendly) Outfits

Breastfeeding brings a whole array of logistical challenges, whether it be where to feed, trying to feed on-the-go or finding suitable clothing. Back when I was breastfeeding Isabella I really struggled with adapting my wardrobe to not only suit my 'post baby' body, but also that were nursing friendly. I spent many months feeling really self conscious and unsure of how to approach this new way of life.

When Poppy's birth was approaching I knew what to expect this time and was a lot more prepared. Now, I am certainly no style icon or even style inspiration, but I thought I'd share the outfits I took on our recent family holiday to Cornwall. I've also included Isabella's outfits, but not Poppy's because she generally lives in 'hand me downs' from Isabella. It's If you're like me and don't generally wear jeans or trousers, then you'll know that it makes it even harder to find suitable clothing. Dresses are few and far between and it can be hard to find skirts that are suitable for my life with two children. Hopefully this can help a fellow struggling mummy...

  2. This is such a great idea for a post. I found it so hard to find outfits for breastfeeding so wish I had found something like this at the time. I love the scallop nursing dress, it looks fab! x

  3. Lovely outfits! I didn't breastfeed so didn't experience issues in the same way, but I do remember not feeling comfortable in anything in my post baby body! x

  4. I mostly want to know what you put on that door handle to keep Isabella so entertained!

  5. You two have some serious style going on. I've only just started getting into dresses more since we moved to Portugal but hardly ever wore them in the UK. I love how you team them with stylish cardigans to complete your look and more importantly, stay warm too. I wish I'd been more brave to wear dresses in the UK as I can't get enough of them now! I had no style after giving birth to my son and lived in jeans that were too big for me because I fully expected to put back on weight later on (I didn't). And t-shirts and baggy jumpers went along with those jeans. It's taken a long time to feel comfortable again and I think my mummy style is better these days x

  7. I really struggled when I was breast feeding Kipper as there was just nothing I could find that was stylish and feeding friendly. I wish I had seen this post then! It would have been really helpful. I think my favourite is Day 2 x

  12. Thanks for these pretty outfits! I am a mother of twins. One is breastfed and one gets organic formula with soymilk from myorganicformula.com/collections/hipp/, because of his lactose intolerance. It really is a hard job to feed them both at once. I will check out these clothes, when they are easy to handle for breastfeeding. Thank you for your suggestions!
