BABY: Aldi Baby and Toddler Event May 2015

It's back, the much anticipated Aldi Baby and Toddler Event. It started yesterday (28th May 2015), so we popped to our local store to see what kind of goodies and offers they had on this time. This is the first baby event Aldi have had since I gave birth, therefore I now know the kind of items we need rather than guessing. Most of the items we picked up are in readiness for weaning, which we clearly won't be doing for quite a few months yet! The Tommee Tippee food pots come in packs of three and were 89p, Sudocrem was £1.79 and the Nuby rattle toy was £2.89. The Tommee Tippee easiflow explora cup was £1.79 and the biggest bargain we bought was this 16 piece mealtime set from Nuby for £3.99. It's filled with plates, beakers, spoons, bowls, snack pots and cups with straws!

EVENT: The Baby Show 2015

Phew. When I was writing this I had just come back from a very long day at The Baby Show at the NEC in Birmingham. It was our first time exploring the wonders of The Baby Show and we loved it! There are so many amazing companies, products and presentations available over the three days the show is on. We visited on the Saturday, which was pretty busy so in future I'd probably go on either the Friday or Sunday as I presume they would be quieter. Having said that, we went with our pushchair and could get around the stalls easily. Next time I think we'd probably go with Isabella in the baby carrier, just so it's easier to nip in and out of the crowds, though the pram did come in handy as a bag carrier...

Tommee Tippee, MAM UK, NUK, Cuddledry, Dr Browns, Nutrimum, Water Wipes, Mamas and Papas, Mothercare, Babys R Us, Arla Big Milk, Chicco, Cosatto, Joie, Bubba Bibs, Fill n Squeeze, Hotmilk Lingerie, Milton and Peppermint London are just some of the companies exhibiting at The Baby Show! I wasn't sure what kind of size this show would be, I'm used to the giant size of The Good Food Show at the NEC, but I was pleasantly surprised. We arrived at around 11.15am and didn't leave until 4.30pm! We filled our day wandering around the exhibitors, talking about the incredible new Tommee Tippee baby cups range and Arla Big Milk (full fat milk with added vitamins and iron - perfect for transitioning from breastmilk/formula to cows milk), listening to a presentation about getting babies into a routine and meeting up with some friends from our NCT group. It has been such a lovely day and I can't wait for the next Baby Show!! If you're expecting a baby or are new parents I can't recommend visiting The Baby Show enough, there are so many amazing show deals to be had. The next show is on at Olympia London between the 23rd and 25th October 2015, go check out the website!

EVENT: The Summer Good Food Show

Last weekend we visited the second best food event of the year, in my opinion. The first being The Good Food Show that happens at the end of November at the NEC every year, it's filled to the brim with hard working, talented people offering the public a vast range of delicious goodies. The Summer Good Food Show is second best because the Gardening Show is combined with the Good Food Show, which means there is less food and more flowers. Perfect for some but I'm certainly someone who has a bigger love for food than gardening!

We had such a lovely day wandering around the many food stalls, tasting I don't know how many different cheeses, checking out the flowers to get ideas for our wedding and watching/meeting celebrity chefs. If you've never been to a Good Food Show then I'd highly recommend you check out the one at the end of November this year!

^Bluebird Tea Co. have the most fantastic range of interesting tea blends.^

^BiscuitButter is completely new to me - it looks like peanut butter but it tastes of crushed biscuits!^

^I've been a huge fan of Belvoir Fruit Farm Cordials for a long time now, I love their Ginger and Apple Cordial warm in the winter and their Elderflower ice-cold in the summer. They have so many different cordials now, there's something for everyone!^

^Abel & Cole had this gorgeous display of fresh vegetable boxes that you can have delivered. I love the concept of this, it feels so natural, organic and healthy!^

^Some family friends first introduced me to Rubis wine - it's a smooth chocolate wine that is so delicious. Tom likes to add it into chilli con carne too!^

^As a frequent visitor to food shows I often see The Little Round Cake Company and am completely taken in by how amazing their cakes look. Though 'little' is in the name of the company, if there's something these cakes are it isn't little!^

^The flower section of the show was stunning and we noted down a number of beautiful flowers that we might use at our wedding.^

EVENT: My Birthday Weekend Away at The Humble Hideaway

It was all very exciting on the Friday before my birthday (on the Monday), Tom whisked me away straight after work for an adventure! We drove through the gorgeous Cotswolds until we reached Wales. By this point it was pitch dark and very hard to see on the small country lanes! When we arrived at a farm I wasn't sure what to expect, we were met by Ludo and driven (on a 4x4 golf buggy thing) to our accommodation. There was a moment on the buggy thing when I just stopped and thought about how lucky I was - there I was in the middle of a field in Wales, with the person I love, looking at the glistening stars - it was a precious moment. When we arrived at The Humble Hideaway (available to book directly or from Canopy and Stars) I was shocked by its beauty - there were two little huts, surrounded by a forest, with a wood burning fire and fresh eggs from the farm - holiday heaven. I absolutely love 'glamping' - camping with but a few luxurious. At The Humble Hideaway there was a double bed, shower, compost toilet, gas hob, wood burning fire, on the hob kettle, fridge - so plenty of luxuries!

The Humble Hideaway is owned by Kate Humble (from the tv programme Countryfile), we were lucky enough to meet Kate a couple of times and she was so lovely. As was her husband, Ludo! There was also a 24 hour lambing course going on the same time we were there!
