DAY OUT: West Midlands Safari Park

It was one of my brother's birthday earlier this month, so we went to West Midlands Safari Park for a lovely (and unfortunately) rare day out as a family. I am such a sentimental person and I love it when we get to create happy memories together as a family, they are so precious.

West Midlands Safari Park (in Bewdley, Worcestershire, UK) is similar to a zoo but the animals are all free to roam around vast spaces, personally this makes me much happier as some zoos have such tiny spaces for big animals. You can drive around the various fields with a range of (mostly) African animals in, it's such a lovely day out! We used to go when we were loads younger, take a picnic and have it in the car on the way round. There are rhinos, elephants, giraffes, cheetahs, deer, camels, wild dogs and white lions to name a few. Luckily there aren't any monkeys, as much as I absolutely love monkeys (Twycross Zoo has an amazing collection of monkeys) they are renowned for wrecking cars! Your car is safe as West Midlands Safari Park.

It currently costs £16.99 for an adult and £12.99 for a child, not too bad for a whole day's entertainment.

Once you have driven around most of the animals, depending on how busy it is it usually takes around 1.5 - 2 hours, you can park up and go into the park. There are more animals, such as penguins, reptiles, fish (a whole tank of Finding Nemo fish!), insects and hippos. There's also a big fairground, which is perfect for children!

Have you ever visited West Midlands Safari Park?
