FOOD DIARY: A week of lunches without bread

Bread. Pitta Bread. Wraps. Rolls. Sliced bread. Tiger bread. Bread, bread, bread! It seems like that's all I eat for lunch, just in varying ways. This past week I decided to cut bread out of my diet completely, which I actually found harder than I thought. It wasn't hard not eating the bread, it was hard thinking of what to have for lunch! After lots of browsing the internet for inspiration I did manage to have a whole week without bread and it felt good. It was nice to challenge myself as such. On with the week...

Monday

Pea and mint frittata with pea shoots
Tuesday

Courgette and halloumi kebabs with harissa roasted vegetable couscous salad and peri peri hummus
Wednesday
Pea, broad bean and mint with soft goats cheese and pea shoots on crackers
Thursday
Homemade goats cheese and onion tart with new potatoes
Friday
1/2 carton of Covent Garden Butternut Squash and Pumpkin Seed soup with couscous and ryvita crackers
Saturday
Jacket potato with cheese and baked beans
Sunday
1/2 carton of Covent Garden Butternut Squash and Pumpkin Seed soup

Do you sometimes feel in a bit of a food rut when it comes to lunch time?

Feel free to leave a comment :)

  2. Great post, I always end up falling back on bread for lunch and I really do want to cut it out as it makes me so bloated.
    All of this looks gorgeous!
