CHARITY: Preparing for Macmillan Coffee Morning 2015

Being on maternity leave means that I have a lot more time, especially during the week and I wanted to make good use of this time. Unfortunately cancer is probably something that will touch all of our hearts at some point in our lives, whether you are directly affected or know someone who is.
I know many people who sadly have had cancer, so when I saw an advert for the Macmillan Coffee Morning I knew I wanted to get involved. A big part of my maternity leave so far has been meeting other mummies for a cup of tea and slice of cake, which is essentially what Macmillan Coffee Morning is! The only difference is that we will also be raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support charity. Usually I'm at work when the coffee morning takes place and therefore can't actively attend.

This year the official date is Friday 25th September 2015 but you can host your own coffee morning whenever suits you. I'm actually hosting mine on the Friday 18th September, as it was the only date everyone could attend. Anyone can host a Macmillan Coffee Morning, just invite your friends/family over for a drink and cake in exchange for a donation. You can order a free Coffee Morning Kit from the Macmillan website with everything you need to collect the donations and even some tasty recipes!

I am looking forward to having a good baking session, good catch up with friends and raise money for such a worthy cause. If hosting a Macmillan Coffee Morning is something you think you could do then why not check out their website for more information. If hosting isn't something you'd like to do then you could always pop to a Coffee Morning near you - find out where they are here

Feel free to leave me a comment :)
