FAMILY: What does the Aldi Baby & Toddler Specialbuys Event August 2018 have to offer?

It's that time of year again - the Aldi Baby & Toddler Specialbuys Event! The event that many parents brave taking their children to the food shop in order to stock up on the essentials, gifts and/or fun things to do during the summer holidays. Aldi is the shop you walk into planning to buy a loaf of bread and pint of milk, yet leave with a garden chair, waterproof coat and paddling pool. That's why we all love shopping there I think; you never quite know what you'll be able to pick up that week.

Aldi's Baby and Toddler Event is once again upon us, with countless bargains to be from Thursday 17th August 2017. Every time they have the event the products on offer seem to get better and better! Life with children is an expensive business (especially as we now have two in nappies!), so like most parents I'm always up for a bargain where possible. The fact that there are so many affordable options in one place during the Aldi Baby and Toddler Event makes it even better; no parent wants to be getting their children in and out of the car constantly in search of a bargain. At least I don't - those parent & child car parking spaces are like gold dust during the summer holidays!

TODDLER: Next Summer Sale Haul

I thought I'd share what we picked up for Isabella from the Next sale this weekend. We are currently buying clothes in the summer sales in 2-3 years, with the hope that they will fit Isabella next summer. They look so huge, but then I can remember buying her 12-18 months last summer and those seeming huge. It's all relative I guess. I was surprised at how quiet our local store was yesterday and I heard a number of people working there saying how unusually quiet it had been so far. This was obviously good for us sale shoppers as it meant there was plenty of stock and choice. There are also a couple of sale bargains from Morrisons at the end of this post that I picked up this week. 

I SHOPPED. I BOUGHT. #1

Over the summer I wanted to start trying to finish the interior design of our house, since moving in 2.5 years ago we have only finished one room - the dining room! So I started buying some more home accessories and was so excited to finish some more rooms. But then an 'issue' occurred, the house we live in is rented and I kind of forgot this! We got a letter recently telling us we have 2 months to pack everything up and leave :( Part of me is devastated, this was the first home we've set up together but we have been looking for a house to buy for the last 1.5 years without any luck. So I guess we were already planning on leaving this house but I'm sad that the decision has been taken out of our hands. Ah well, so the house hunt has really been stepped up! We've seen a couple of properties in the last couple of days but nothing that suits us. I think we'll end up renting somewhere else before we buy somewhere, there's no point wasting money on a house we don't want.

 

So, anyway before this little 'issue' this is what I'd been buying....

This is my favourite purchase and biggest bargain - Glass Lantern - TK Maxx - 20p, YES that's 20p!!!!!!! There is one pane of glass missing but you can't really tell can you?

Car Boot Treasures ♥

Last weekend I went to my second car boot of the year! I absolutely love car boot's, there can be some great vintage finds and of course bargains! You do have to have an eye for the quality items, there's always a lot of 'rubbish' at car boot's too. But that's part of the enjoyment! The problem is, Tom doesn't like car boot's at all, so it takes a while to persuade him to have an early morning and go with me! haha

 

We went to the car boot at about 7.30am, so not as early as really keen goers but still early enough to find some gems.

 

Here's what I bought...

 

dotcomgiftshop Recipes Box is brand new and was only 50p! It is still available on their website for £3.95.

 

This cute little pocket mirror has one normal mirror and one that's magnified. It cost 50p.

 

 

 This is probably my favourite purchase - I LOVE IT! A vintage inspired glass jar, which will be perfect for my dressing table. It was only £1.

 

 

 This was the biggest bargain of the trip - a new Dunelm Mill Rug that still had the price on the back for £49.99 and I only paid £4! It's a gorgeous duck egg blue colour and doesn't have a single mark!

 

 

 These mugs are huge, I can't decide whether to make them into candles or to just use them as mugs! They were 50p each.

 

 

 I love these bowls! They were designed by Jeff Banks and were 50p each!

 

 I bought this for Daisy when she's older, it's a swimming buoyancy aid. The RRP is £27 and I paid £2.50. I also bought a pack of Huggies Little Swimmers nappies for 20p - a great bargain as they are usually nearly £7 a pack!

 

 I've really wanted a glass cake stand with dome for a while but am struggling to find a nice one that isn't over £50. This is actually a cheese board dome but I'm going to use it for cakes and probably find a use at our wedding for it! It was meant to be £3 but I negotiated it down to £2.50!

 

 

 Cath Kidston 'Make!' book, full of craft projects and Cath Kidston templates - RRP £14.99 and I paid £1.50.
