BABY: Fisher-Price Infant to Toddler Rocker

When you become a parent you quickly learn how important it is to have safe places to put your baby down and if those places can entertainment them too then that's win, win. The Fisher-Price Infant-to-Toddler Rocker* (£59.99) does exactly that and has many other clever functions that make it an exciting rocker with longevity. When your baby is born it is a rocker with hanging toys and soothing vibrations, but once they get older it transforms into a toddler rocker!

Not only does this, but it also has two cosy reclined positions and a fold out kick stand for stationary seating. The various options allow parents to set the rocker to what their child prefers, which I really like. At the moment Poppy prefers to be sitting up more and with the calming vibrations on, but I know that when Isabella was a baby she would be preferred no vibrations and to be rocked.

More often than not rockers have a relatively short life, but the fact that this Fisher-Price rocker transforms into a toddler rocker that can take up to 18kg is just genius. It also works perfectly if, like me, you have a baby and toddler. I've lost count the amount of times I've had to stop Isabella using Poppy's crib and play mat because she's too big. Having a rocker that both Isabella and Poppy can use has saved tantrums, anyone feeling left out and is teaching the ever so important (but really hard concept to learn) lesson of sharing. It is really easy to change between an infant and toddler rocker, all you need to do is unclip the toy bar so I find we change between the two modes throughout the day.

The bright, colourful animal design really appealed to Isabella, as she likes naming the animals and relaying the sounds they make. The toy bar has a puffin clacker and lion rollerball, which Poppy has been mesmerised by and Isabella has enjoyed rattling them for her. She isn't yet old enough to reach them by herself and I have to say they do seem quite far away from where she's sitting. It may therefore be a while before she can reach the toys, but for now Isabella is a very willing helper. When Poppy can reach them they help to develop her gross motor skills and coordination.

This rocker is more on the bulky side compared to others I've seen, which I think is probably necessary due to it taking a toddler's weight as well as an infants. But it is something to consider if you have limited floor space.

Overall, I am really impressed with the Fisher-Price Infant-to-Toddler Rocker - it has been keeping both Isabella and Poppy entertained and there aren't many things that will do that. I like that it lasts longer than other rockers, has a calming vibrating option and can so easily be changed between an infant and toddler rocker.

What do/did you look for in a rocker?

Feel free to leave a comment - I love reading every single one :)

  10. Fisher Price offer such an amazing selection of products. We had one of their swings for Piglet, and love the look of this chair

  11. This is such a great idea! It always seemed like these chairs get used for such a small window, very clever to extend the life like that.

  15. We were gifted a fairly fancy rocker for our first baby, but he was totally non-plussed with it. So we didn't bother with our second.

  23. Aww what an adorable rocker! It's fab that it can last so long - so many baby products are obsolete at 5mos old. Thanks for joining us at #BloggerClubUK

  24. Aw this is bringing back memories. A good rocker is an absolute godsend when you have a little baby - we also had a Fisher Price one which went from baby to toddler and it was so handy. It lasted really well as all three of my children used it.
