BEAUTY: W7 Lipsticks - Pumpkin Pie and Apricot Brandy

Happy Christmas Eve Everyone!! Hope your all getting festive :)

Other than the one red lipstick I bought in America last year, I don't really 'do' lipsticks. Or at least I didn't used to wear lipsticks - I was always more of a lipgloss/ lipbalm girl! However since blogging and seeing the infamous mac lipsticks on every other blogger - I've become interested and enticed into trying out more lipsticks. These w7 lipsticks are so reasonable at only 75p from fragrance direct! You can afford to experiment with colours at that price, so why not go for *that* colour you would usually be too scared to try! I chose to try Pumpkin Pie* and Apricot Brandy*, not only for their autumnal/winter names but it was a big selling factor!

I was really impressed with the intensity of colour in both of these lipsticks, for 75p I was expecting a very 'wishy washy' colour that lasted no more than 5 minutes. I put Pumpkin Pie on for my work's Christmas party, after reapplying it only once, it still looked fresh on.

The Pumpkin Pie colour is a peachy, shimmery lipstick with pink tones. It didn't really add much colour to my lips but did add a lovely shimmer, which lasts a lot longer than a lipgloss. The Apricot Brandy lipstick has a more neutral tone with a light brown, shimmery colour. I really liked this colour after I had tinted my lips with 2true cheek and lip tint. Both of these lipsticks are perfect for transforming a day time make up look into a night time look quickly!

Do you wear lipstick a lot?

BEAUTY: W7 Prime Magic Camera Ready Primer

Isn't it so annoying when you've spent ages applying your make up beautifully and within a couple of hours your eyeliner is falling down your face, blusher is non existent and your face is no longer matte? If this rings any bells then you'll probably need to try using a primer - a base that goes underneath your make up that helps to keep your make up in place! W7 Prime Magic Anti-Dull Skin Balancing Primer - Camera Ready* (available for £1.40 here) is a great budget primer that is friendly to the purse strings too.

The texture of this primer is so 'soft' - it almost feels like a powder despite it being a liquid. This makes it easy to apply evenly, leaving a matte finish ready for you to apply your make up. I thought I'd always use a primer for 'special occasions' but I've ended up using this everyday, as I love the finish.

BEAUTY: W7 Light Diffusing Concealer

Dark circles are a constant issue with me. I have such dark circles and am constantly trying to find a product that either get's rid of them or one that covers them up well! The W7 Light Diffusing Concealer* (£2.77 from here) is a good reasonably priced alternative to higher end concealers. It's packaging is obviously very similar to YSL Touche Éclat and at just over £2 is considerably cheaper.

It's easy to use as the applicator brush is built into the product, so it's ideal for going on holiday when you don't have a lot of space to carry loads of different make up products. The concealer is relatively thick, which means it stays where you want it to stay, rather than start rolling down your face! I found this concealer to be perfect for lightening the area under my eyes, perhaps more than concealing it. The texture once applied is very soft, so it's great for applying over blemishes as well.

The concealer comes out from the middle of the brush applicator, which I like and don't like. I like the fact that you can easily and quickly apply the concealer without any fuss but I did find it hard to gauge how much concealer I needed. Often I would have 'pumped' too much out - it's probably my lack of expertise rather than a slight downfall of this product but still something worth mentioning.

As you can see the product is applied fairly evenly, which allows for easy application under the eyes. As it's a light diffusing concealer it is also ideal for highlighting - along the bridge of the nose, on the apples of the cheeks and in the middle of the forehead. You'll create a glowing look without having to layer a variety of products on.

BEAUTY: W7 Just Brows Waterproof Brow Pen

A couple of years ago I would have laughed if you'd told me I'd be colouring in my eyebrows everyday now! It would have sounded ridiculous and completely unnecessary, yet I find myself doing exactly that every morning. It all started when Tom was working in Manchester and I was only working part time, so I could spend many days shopping, having my make up done and generally enjoying a 'lady of leisure' lifestyle up in Manchester! I went to a make up stand in a department store and they used a dark brown shadow on my eyebrows. At first I really wasn't sure, I felt I looked constantly 'shocked' or that I had slugs on my face! But as time went on (and I kept checking myself out in the mirrors around every shop) I became to love the look - who would have thought it! I went to Superdrug to buy a dark brown eye shadow, which I thought would do the job perfectly. At only £1 for the eye shadow I couldn't really go wrong, I used an eye shadow brush and started applying it everyday. I did this for about a year but never did master getting the powder just on my eyebrows and not having to wipe it from the skin around!

The W7 Just Brows Waterproof Brow Pen* (£2.55 from here) is exactly what I've been needing - a precise, dark brown 'pen' that means I'm able to draw on my eyebrows exactly where I want them to be! I tend to just 'colour in' my actual eyebrows rather than make them any bigger/longer; mainly because I don't have a clue how to and more importantly how to make them look nice!

The pen aspect of this product is similar to a calligraphy writing pen, there's a thick and thin end - allowing you to create the look you want. I have especially been using it for the thinner part of my eyebrows, as my eyebrows head out to my hair line. Personally I don't like my eyebrows too dark, so this product is perfect for me and for anyone else who wants to create a similar look.

My eyebrows have been filled in with the W7 Just Brows Waterproof Brow Pen here...
