TRAVEL: Family Holiday in Copenhagen - Cost, Weather, Places to Visit, Tips and Tricks

TRAVEL: Family Holilday in Copenhagen - Cost, Weather, Places to Visit, Tips and Tricks
Copenhagen is renowned for being a really family-friendly city, not to mention beautiful and filled with history. On paper it seems like the ideal place for a family city break, so how did we find our family holiday to Copenhagen in February of this year? Now to be honest, the idea of flying with two young children in tow terrified me, so the only way we were going to be going abroad on a family holiday was if my husband organised it. So on Christmas morning when I started opening a pass the parcel style package with a picture of the world, going into Europe, going into Denmark, going into Copenhagen and finally going into an air bnb I was filled with excitement! Although I wasn't brave enough to book a holiday abroad myself, we had discussed about making the most of Isabella's last year before school and going abroad this year. Little did I know my husband had secretly planned a trip to Copenhagen for us all.

#LITTLELOVES: First Outfit, Maize Maze and All the Mud!

Happy Friday everyone! How are we into August already? You wouldn't guess it looking out of the window, but I have to be honest I've been loving these cooler days. It's been a busy week with lots of blogging to do, gifts to order and a very needy baby (thunderstorm development leap I'm looking at you). A productive one nonetheless and I'm starting to feel a bit more 'on top of things' again!

TRAVEL: Preparing for our first family holiday to Iceland

Soon we are jetting off to the cold shores of Iceland, which was my Christmas present from my husband. He had been eager to go abroad in the summer, but I was too scared about taking a toddler on an aeroplane so we settled for a staycation instead. However fast forward quite a few months and I'm now about to take a toddler on a flight, whilst being pregnant! I'm actually feeling quite calm about the whole thing, which is surprising me. I'm a worrier at the best of times, but I'm so excited to visit Iceland as it's one country I've always wanted to visit. You see I hate hot weather, like really hate it, so where could be more perfect for me than a country called Iceland? So, very soon we will jetting off into the sunrise, braving flying with a toddler and experiencing the natural wonders of Iceland.

TODDLER STYLE: A week of outfits #59

Gosh the stress this week has been slightly overwhelming at times. I just seem to have so much to do. I get up at 5.50am and don't go to sleep until 10..30pm, which is really late for me. In that time I'm either working, commuting, putting Isabella to bed or blogging. It has been constantly and I'm starting to burn out. So next week I plan to try and take it all a bit slower, stop stressing about the mountain of work I have to do and try to just enjoy the moment. The problem is I'm one of those people that usually only relaxes once my to-do list has been ticked off!

TODDLER STYLE: A week of outfits #55

The weather this week has been so nice - we've had lots of afternoons playing in the garden (hence outfit 3), picnics in the park and a quick sale shopping trip. Whoops. I did pick up some bargains from Mothercare though - just in case you're in need of a shopping fix. Also this week I decided to set up a new Instagram account - treasureeverym - which is open for everyone to enjoy! My other Instagram account I still use (and share different photos), but that one will remain private because it has photos of Isabella's face etc. Things I don't necessarily want to share with the world. I'd love it if you checked out my new account and followed if you want to follow our lives and see what we get up to :)

TODDLER STYLE: A week of outfits #53

What a week. An emotional roller-coaster to say the least, but it's the weekend now! We've been enjoying the sunshine by going to the farm, meeting fellow mummies in some beautiful botanical gardens and playing the in the garden. I've much preferred the weather this week, as it's been that bit cooler. On a side note - if you're looking for some toddler/baby bargains then it's well worth shopping around at the moment. A lot of stores have further reduced their clothes, some of my favourites are: Zara, H&M, Mothercare and JoJo Maman Bebe.

TODDLER STYLE: A week of outfits #51

So summer has mostly definitely arrived this week...it's been so hot! I'm not the biggest fan of the heat and the added stress of work and keeping Isabella cool enough has meant it's been a rather exhausting week. The tantrums seemed to have dwindled off at the moment (touch wood) and it's been so lovely creating happy, smiling memories together again. I really am very lucky to have the life I have and sometimes it's nice to stop and appreciate the small things.

TODDLER STYLE: A week of outfits #50

This week has been a lot more positive than last week - with some good news about a relative who isn't very well, changes at work and far less tantrums! Thursday seems to be Isabella's worst day of the week, with tantrum after tantrum, however hard I try to make the day nice and fun. I'm not sure if it's because it's the first day of the week she's not at nursery, or that she gets so overtired from being at nursery for three days that I get the brunt of that? Who knows. She's also continued to wake up in the night with the most horrendous screams. One night this week we couldn't settle her until 9pm (Thursday night in fact), which hasn't happened since she was very little. I'm not sure if she's at an age where this happens, but we aren't in a Wonder Weeks thunderstorm so I'm at a loss as to why.

TODDLER STYLE: A week of outfits #49

After having such a lovely week last week this one hasn't been quite so good. I've been letting certain things worry/stress me out and I just need to relax. Easier said than done of course, but I've been reading/pinning positive inspirational quotes like there's no tomorrow. I will relax...I'm determined. Other than life worries we've had a general errands week - getting things ticked off my to-do list helps so much. I've also been sale shopping for Isabella (come back tomorrow for my latest haul), which of course is good for the soul.

BABY STYLE: A week of outits #43

Aside from work, this week has been filled with exciting preparations for Isabella Mai-de. All of my plans, products and spreadsheets are ready to go, so it's now a waiting game until the launch date - Wednesday 25th May 2016! I will be selling my hand stamped children's clothing on the isabellamaide Instagram account and via the Isabella Mai-de tab here on my blog. I'm so excited (and extremely nervous) to share the designs and receive feedback. There may be a sneak peek of one of the trial designs in this post, but I'm not saying anymore than that! You'll have to check back on Wednesday 25th May to see the whole collection :)

BABY STYLE: A week of outfits #33

This week has been my last week of maternity leave - a full year since I last went to work and I'm feeling a mixture of emotions about the impending return. I'm excited to switch the 'work' side of my brain back on again, though it's going to be a challenge initially - stringing a sentence together can be hard some days! I'm apprehensive about settling Isabella into nursery and just leaving her in general. I've really been trying to look at this next chapter in our lives as a positive thing, after all it's going to happen whether I like it or not. As a result of going back to work I've been thinking about what to do with these BABY STYLE posts. I won't be getting Isabella ready in the morning on the days I'll be working (three days a week), so I'm going to reduce the number of outfits to three per week. This way we can still continue these posts, without putting the pressure on my husband to take outfit photos in the morning before nursery. I hope you'll still enjoy seeing what Isabella wears on three days of the week.

BABY STYLE: A week of outfits #28

This week we dropped off the paperwork at what will be Isabella's nursery, which felt like such a big moment. I'm looking forward to Isabella interacting with other children regularly and getting all the new experiences at nursery, but I don't want to leave her. It feels more real now and though she won't be starting nursery for a couple of months I'm already very emotional about it all, many tears have been shed. Just one of those parenting struggles I guess. Other than that we've had a good week, my husband was off for a day so we went for lunch and finally put some curtains up in Isabella's bedroom!

BABY STYLE: A week of outfits #25

This week was back to normal with my husband back at work and all festivities over, which was both nice and sad. I've loved having two people on the parenting job, but I was looking forward to having mine and Isabella's little routine back up and running. Now that we're into 2016 it doesn't seem that long until I return to work so I'm determined to make the most of every single day. We've spent so much time playing this week with all of Isabella's new toys and enjoying being out and about now it's quiet again. Quality Mummy and daughter time is the focus of the next few months!

BABY STYLE: A week of outfits #22

So it's only 2 weeks until Christmas Day now - how?! Though I've finished all of my Christmas shopping I still feel very unprepared. The to-do list just keeps getting longer with wrapping presents, festive baking, family get togethers, handing out Christmas cards and inevitably helping my husband sort out his families presents too...there's not much time! Yet I find myself painting my nails ready for my work's Christmas party while Isabella naps, not the most essential job but a relaxing one nonetheless.

CHRISTMAS GIFT GUIDE: For Baby + GIVEAWAY

This gift guide is the one that is the closest to my heart this year, as it will be our little babies first Christmas. It feel incredibly strange that I am buying for a baby this year, it's a dream come true and I feel so lucky. As with everything in the baby world, there are so many cute gifts out there but these are my favourites and ones I know your babies will love too!

BABY: So many cute Christmas clothes...

While I've been searching for festive additions to Isabella's wardrobe I've come across so many options, all just as cute as each other. I thought I'd put together a collection of festive baby clothes, grouped into their similar themes for you to see what's out there too. I can't wait to get the Christmas jumpers out for Isabella, though I'm being controlled and holding off until December!

BABY STYLE: A week of outfits #16

Happy Halloween everyone! We made the most of it and have dressed in halloween themed clothes three times this week. It was strange seeing Isabella in such dark colours, we didn't own any black leggings so had to go shopping. We also went to a halloween party at a friends house, which was really fun and the perfect excuse to fully dress up Isabella as a little pumpkin. So cute!

BABY SYLE: A week of outfits #12

We started weaning this week, so really this should be a post of vests as we try to savour Isabella's nice (stain free) clothes. But in reality we just covered her in over sized bibs and crossed our fingers! It's a messy business weaning, but one that's also so much fun. The cooler days have prompted us to put the heating on and start the search for an appropriate woolly hat and mittens for Isabella - do you have any recommendations?

BABY STYLE: A week of outfits #8

Where has August gone?! It's not been particularly warm this week, so there's be a lot of layering, tights and long-sleeves....in August. This has got me excited for autumn, not only for Isabella's wardrobe but for mine too. Despite only just moving into 3-6 month clothes Isabella is already growing out of somethings. I can't believe it, we might be in 6-9 months sooner than I thought.

BABY STYLE: A week of outfits #6

It's been so much fun searching through Isabella's 3-6 month clothes, as I hadn't looked at them since sorting them out at the start of my maternity leave. I was kicking myself when I realised that I had put away the JoJo Maman Bebe leggings in this post with the 3-6 month clothes when they're actually 0-3 months! So she's only worn them once, which I'm so sad about because they're so cute. Ah well - it did prompt me to go through her clothes to make sure I hadn't put away any other clothes in the wrong age range. Perhaps not as organised as I would like to think I am - but I'm blaming baby brain!
